Going "MISSING"

Dalton's POV

It has been about two weeks since Amira was arrested. But with all the evidence, the only one who wasn't was her boyfriend, Juan, the notorious drug king pin from Mexico. I never realized how deep my cousin was with this until hearing she wanted to plant the drugs to have me arrested and to the point that I would have to sell my house in order to pay my bond and everything. If I wasn't surprised before with her behavior from back in the day, I am now. I didn't think she would stoop this low especially after she tried forcing me to break with my amazing girlfriend. I am never leaving Nicolette. She is the one I plan on spending the rest of my life with. She does it for me and I can't imagine surviving another day without her in it. I never before wanted any kids especially from back when I first got out of jail, but now that I have been out 6 years and I'm clean and sober, I definitely would love to start a family. I plan on starting that family with Nicolette. Her father and  I are now getting along a lot better now a days. He had brought a lot of the police vehicles in for tuneups and has requested I'm the one that works on them. Bud said that this alone means that he trust me completely now and trust me even more that I am dating his daughter. I appreciated this more than anyone would ever know.

But with it being two weeks of Juan losing his scapegoat, I have been getting strange calls but nobody is on the other line when I answer. I leave it alone because if it was that important they would leave me a voicemail and/or send me a message. They haven't done neither. I have tried searching for their name via reverse phone search but I have gotten nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! It has put me more on edge because now I'm wondering is this Juan trying to get me freaked out? Because if it is then it's working. As I am in the back finishing up a car, I hear the bell ring out front. I get up and walk out front. I see Juan standing there looking at me. What in the world does this man want from me?

~Dalton~ What is it that you want from me?

~Juan~ Well I have a deal for you...

~Dalton~ Why in the world would I make a deal with you? You turned my own cousin against me, and now your at my job? What do you want from me?

~Juan~ Well if you want your girlfriend safe you will do this deal..(He shows me video footage of Nicolette painting one of the murals she was commissioned to paint) Deal is you leave town and never come back.

~Dalton~ If I don't?

~Juan~ Nicolette will become my play toy. You wouldn't want that now would you...

He's right, I wouldn't want that. But at the same time I do not want to break up with Nicolette either. I have been living with her at her apartment since everything went down with Amira.

~Dalton~ I will leave after I get off at 5. I'm leaving straight from here and heading wherever my heart takes me.

~Juan~ And don't contact Nicolette either if you know what's good for you.

He puts his sunglasses on and leaves. I walk into the back and I look at Bud. He heard everything. He knows I don't want to leave her but in order to keep her safe I have too. I have been given no choice. I finish up my jobs for the day and as I'm about to keave, I hand Bud my phone and my car keys. He knows what I have asked him to do. He hands me one of his truck keys.

~Bud~ Don't worry I will call Sheriff and explain what has gone down.

~Dalton~ Let Nicolette know I will come back when it is safe. I will contact her when it is safe. Tell her I love her forever and a day.
