Dalton has done a lot of wrong in his past. Nicolette is the type of woman who sees no wrongdoing in others. What happens when they cross each other's paths? Will Nicolette's father be as understanding as she is? Or will they fall apart?
Sheriff called me two days ago and told me that he arrested Juan because he stalked and harassed Nicolette. Nicolette called him as well as recorded the conversation because she felt as if it was off. I am so proud of her. She has been the one thing on my mind about it all. She means everything to me. I had to move to a hotel that was roughly 4 hours away because I was trying to put distance in between myself, Juan and the mayor. The more space that is between the three of us the better. Sheriff said for me not to return home yet until the mayor is arrested and thrown in jail. I was told evidence against the mayor was damning. He has a lot of charges against him and it isn't just from Juan either. Amira is telling everyone that she hasn't done anything wrong. She has been in jail for a little under three months. Her little plea to be released isn't getting her anywhere. The one person besides me, who tried being a friend, she turned against and tried ruining our relationship. I told her never contact me again or I would put charges out against her.
But I am just sitting here waiting for Sheriff to notify me that it is safe to come home. So all I can do is sit here and think about my girl. I just hope when she sees me, she isn't angry with me about much of anything. I didn't want to leave her at all but if I didn't either myself or Nicolette would of been hurt badly. That wasn't a risk I wanted to take either. So I remained silent and distanced myself from her, so if she hates me then she hates me.

As I am sitting here, fresh out the shower, my phone rings. Then hangs up immediately. It's the Sheriff. He decided that the call and hang up is a good way to have a signal for one of us to call the other back. So I pick up my phone and take a deep breath and I return the phone call.
Phone Conversation
~Dalton~ Hello?
~Sheriff~ Hey I have good news for you! My detectives arrested the mayor and he is being held in federal prison until his trial. It's time for you to return home to our girl. I'll be at her apartment in about 3 hours. I have to file paperwork in regards to everything and I'll be there before you arrive. When you get to her apartment, text my phone and I'll get you inside without her knowing. She has been worried about you a lot. She misses you. She misses you more than she has ever missed anyone else she had dated before.
~Dalton~ Are you sure she isn't mad at me? I didn't want to just up and leave her like that. That isn't who I am. I was more worried about her safety and well being.
~Sheriff~ Trust me, she isn't mad at you at all. She was completely worried about you. She knew you wouldn't do that to her. I will see you soon.
I hang up the phone and get myself together. Two months of being away from the woman I am absolutely in love with and the woman I am planning on spending the rest of my life with. I'm glad this is over with now. I get dressed and she's going to be happy with this get up...
