Lunch with daddy

Lettie's POV

Today I am meeting my daddy out for lunch. It will be the first time that I have seen him since I moved into my new apartment and since he tried planting a listening device in my bedroom there as well. I wanted to stay mad at him but after all he is my father and he's all I have left in this world. I told Dalton I was going to meet up with my daddy today and see if it seemed like he changed. If he did then I would slowly bring him back into my daily life. If anything felt remotely off then I would remove him completely from it. Daddy seemed to be overall missing me but I honestly don't know what to think. Dalton and I are just friends because we are slowly trying to get to know each other. Dalton comes over to my apartment after he gets off of work and we have dinner, cuddle and watch movies. It's like a date but a friends date, whatever that means. I plan to tell my father that Dalton and I hang out together and we are friends. This will be important to see if he has changed.

I have a feeling this is a part of someone's egotistical plan to control my life again. While it may not be my father, it has to be someone. As I finish getting myself together, I go outside on my balcony and I see the guy who was at the jail standing outside my apartment building. Now this could be a complete coincidence that he is here and meeting someone who lives here, or he's stalking me. I sit down in my chair and pretend I'm taking a selfie of myself to send to Dalton but I don't. I quickly send the picture to my father. If this is the same guy that was in my father's jail a couple a weeks ago, then he is most likely dangerous. I am absolutely terrified now. I moved here to have my own independence and now having some insane person following me around scares me. My father responds with that it is the same man from the jail but since we don't know if he saw me here or anything, to go and leave the apartment. He will be meeting me outside the restaurant so I'm safe.

I gather my purse and head outside. Once I have gotten inside my car, I pull up my Bluetooth for my phone to see if a tracking device is on my car and nothing so far but that doesn't mean that it won't be implanted when I'm at lunch with my father. I arrive at the restaurant and my father is outside waiting for me. I've missed him a lot. I just hope he has changed for the better.

~Lettie~ Hi daddy.

I run and hug him. I have missed him something fierce. My daddy hugs me tightly. I can see he has missed me as well.

~Sheriff~ Baby girl I have missed you so much!

~Lettie~ I'm good daddy...(we get seated at the restaurant) I had a painting for the mayor I finished for town hall and he has acquired me to do several paintings for his house.

~Sheriff~ Wow that's impressive. I'm so proud of you.

~Lettie~ Thank you. So how's work going??

~Sheriff~ It's going pretty good. The person who you showed me, lawyers, yes he has two of them, got him out of jail and got the charges against him erased. Like he did nothing wrong.

~Lettie~ But he sold drugs!

~Sheriff~ Yes he did. He has trafficked drugs across the borders. But with his lawyers he won't ever see any jail time.

~Lettie~ how are you going to get him?

~Sheriff~ Not sure babygirl. But if you see him or anything, be careful. Be careful of where you are at, whose around your, and everything. He would do some shady shït, so yeah.
