"Y/n! I'm home!" His cheery voice called from not too far, and your heart dropped. It couldn't be too hard to avoid any suspicion, could it? Hey Ichigo, don't mind me, just doing some cleaning up through these papers. Hey Ichigo, don't mind me, just tryina see if you're some crazy guy.
You stayed silent. "Y/n?" He called again, getting closer now. You gathered up the papers as quietly as you could, but obviously not quiet enough. "Y/n, why aren't you answering me?" and he headed in your direction. Your fight or flight instinct kicked in at once, and you dived behind the sofa to hide. You peeked your head out from above, watching Ichigo feel around to put the legal documents back into the drawer.
"What were you looking for?" He seemed to meet your eyes, and you stared back like a deer in the headlights. For that moment, you felt as though he could see you very clearly, no difficulties at all, staring at you. You felt like you might collapse with fear when he stood up and walked past the sofa. He went towards your room, opened the door, and disappeared, probably looking for you. You saw your chance, and sprinted across the floor as quickly and quietly as you could towards the entrance hall, and the front door. You lightly pressed down on the handle,
fuck
of course it's locked. You patted your pocket, no keys. They were in your room. You resisted the urge to scream right there. Instead you went to your half open door, but before you could get there Ichigo came out of it, and walked into his own room. You stayed frozen until he turned his back on you again. You then creeped into your room, snatched your keys, almost left, turned back for your phone, then walked, light-headedly, out. You started shakily typing a message for Ichigo, saying that you went to buy some milk and was on your way home at the moment.
Life had other plans, and before you could press send, your phone rang, loudly. You almost dropped it out of shock. You never had your ringer on, which meant...
He knew you were there, all along. He gave you false hope that you could get out and avoid whatever he had in store for you. He was behind you by the time you had come to your senses. The keys were gone from your hands, along with your phone. "I'm very upset with you, y/n," he looked directly at you. He let the phone drop on the floor, throwing it straight down, and tossed the keys elsewhere too. He held a rag in his hand.
Aw hell naw,
that was definitely chloroform, you've seen horror movies before, that was definitely chloroform. You did struggle, you did try to get away, but of course, it's not that easy, and the sweet smell took you over.
Ichigo looked at his watch. It was almost time for his appointment, he would have to be quick. He put his hood up and his face mask on, but left the front unzipped to show the design clearly.
He poured the solution around the building, then waited. "Hey, what are you doing?!"
It was time, history repeats itself. He took a matchstick, swiped the end on the brick wall, and dropped it. The person dashed at him, as expected. He dove his gloved hand into his pocket, and opened a small box. Once again, he had to work quick, the compound would react with the oxygen in a few seconds.
His timing was once again perfect, and the persons face was all of a sudden alight.
Screaming, of course, there was a lot of screaming. He paid no mind to it, and speed walked around the nearest corner to change away from the scene.
".... Triangle," he was now wearing different clothes, clothes that you could find in any store. ".... Strawberry," he was now onto harder shapes. He should've come to this place sooner, so that when he met you he could've seen everything even a bit more clearly. But then again, would he have ever even met you again if he hadn't gotten lost? Probably not.
Either way, there wasn't much point in lingering on the past, not now at least, especially with what he had done over the years. If anything, he should be more focused on the future than ever, one mistake was all it took. At least in the past, he never left anything that could tie to him, but now you were in the equation, so with great regret, he opened the alcohol bottle, and drizzled the contents onto his clothes. He struck a match, then...
"Y/n! I'm home!" But no response other than the shuffling of papers. Silly girl, why would he leave anything useful lying around when he couldn't even see it? "Y/n?" He wasn't too fazed, it was only a matter of time until you found out his intentions, one way or another. In fact, he was only relieved that you hadn't found out earlier, it could have ruined the plan.
"Y/n, why aren't you answering me?" He started to put the scattered papers back into the drawers. Then, he looked at you. His saviour, there, staring straight back. He held his eye contact, it was clear to him what you were trying to do. All of his life, he gave up hope that he could see again, when the truck sped by, he didn't feel anything. All the fear, sadness, gone. A rush overtook him, but then he was pulled from death's door.
"Are you okay?" and then it snapped in his mind. It was you, he was born into the world for you. After all, without his help where would you be right now? The streets most likely. "What were you looking for?" but you didn't respond.
I see...
So he walked past. After feeling for your phone, which he knew rarely left the bedside table when you were home, he quickly flipped on the ringer and exited. He nearly walked into you, which made him want to smile. How funny would it be? He was giving you the advantage, only for you to practically ask to be caught. He went into his room, where he would get what he needed.
So there you were again, although this time you were the vulnerable one.
