"Let's stick with this car, it'll be suicide to try and ditch it now." Ichigo nodded in agreement, and you pushed your foot against the gas pedal as hard as you could in an attempt to escape the other cars chasing you.

After breaking several speed limits, and accidentally driving into an old lady and sending her flying, the police sirens faded, and you and Ichigo decided it was safer to ditch the car, they probably had a description of it by this point and would be looking for it.

"What now?" You asked.

"We take a train, it doesn't matter where, we just need to keep moving.  We'll find somewhere to hide out where people won't know who we are, and live quietly."

"Ichigo, you do realise we're wanted criminals.  You especially, there is no hiding out for us."

Ichigo shrugged, "well, unless you have any better ideas."  You scratched your head, and sighed.  Then, you opened the car door.

"Alright, there's a station about five minutes away from here, we can go on foot."  Ichigo walked to the right of you, following you out of the car and down an alleyway.   However, you didn't get far.

There was no police, and no strangers, only a familiar face, pointing a loaded gun in your direction.  You halted, and Ichigo sensed it. "What's wro-"

Cathy cut him off.  "Y/n, that's what's wrong."

The state of her was horrific.  Her usually tidy pulled up hair was almost fully burnt and the remainder of it loose around her shoulders, and across her right side was a series of angry red marks.  Burn marks.  Over these she wore clothing that was obviously worn the same time as when the burn marks had affected her, as the polystyrene fabric seemed to have fused to her in some areas.

Ichigo's expression turned to one of shock.  "Cathy?  That's impossible.  How did you find us?"

"Seriously?  You don't think I'm gonna keep a tracker in my own car?  She's really made you go that stupid, huh?"  Cathy walked closer, still training the gun on you.  "Can't you see?  It's all her fault.  Why Naomi is dead.  Why Sai killed himself, why Ted-" her voice broke and she didn't finish the sentence.

"Can't you see, Kasai?  She's made you go crazy.  Crazier than any of us ever were."

"Well," Ichigo frowned, "in a literal sense, no I can't see.  But that's not what you mean."

"For fuck's sake, what the hell happened to you?"  Cathy hissed, tears welling up in her eyes.  "I'll help you understand, we're family, we're the only two left, you can't just leave me.  You tried to kill me you fucking traitor."

"Says you, you're the reason Naomi got shot in the first place, you could've killed the other guys, she would still be alive if you weren't so weak."  Ichigo spoke clearly, and that was enough.

Cathy broke.

She fired a bullet, it hit you in the abdomen, but despite the searing pain, you didn't think anything that important got hit.  Until you saw the blood pooling beneath you, and Ichigo's head turning in your direction, a flash of deja vu passed you, and you fell.

"It wasn't meant to be like this, Kasai."

She took a step forward while Ichigo was too stunned to move, eyes fixed on you and face dotted with your blood.  "We were meant to be family.  All of us, the rejects.  We saved each other, there was room for y/n too, but you just had to go and mess it up didn't you?"

And then it went dark for you.  Cathy had already made her decision.  The last thing you heard was two gunshots, one aimed directly to your right, and the other seemingly at Cathy herself, though there were only three of you in the alley.  You slumped against another limp body, and faded away.
