You woke up to someone shaking you gently. You smiled up at Ichigo, and then looked in awe at the setting sun above.  "If you're awake, I bought some food, it's downstairs."

You impatiently followed Ichigo downstairs. It had been a while since you'd eaten, and with all the recent action, you were ravenous. Downstairs were various different bags of which the contents you weren't sure of.  Some seemed to contain regular groceries, but some seemed to house certain devices that were unfamiliar to you.  "Ted helped me out a bit, so help yourself, I'll be back by morning."

Ichigo gave you a verbal list of things to do and not do while he was away, such as messing around with the stove, hypocritically. As he was doing this, he felt around for things with different markings, some of which he packed into a bag. "Where are you going, Ich- uh, Kasai?"

He didn't halt his packing as he answered. "They have Naomi on death penalty, I'm busting her out."  You choked on the piece of fruit you were munching on.

"I'm coming too!" You exclaimed.

"No way, you'll get yourself killed." Ichigo replied instantly, which hinted to you that he'd already practiced this discussion, and he knew full well you weren't going to let up without an argument.

"Well you can't go by yourself, you can't see." You shot back, but Ichigo had already thought it out.

"I'm giving Ted a call, he's taking me, and I've already gotten a rough idea of the prison layout, besides, I have hindsight."

You frowned. "But I can help."

"No, y/n, that's my final answer, and the end of this discussion." Ichigo took out a flip phone, probably the same one as last time, and felt around the buttons on it, occasionally pressing one. Your guess was he didn't trust you to call the intended person unless you got permission to go with him.

You could hear the dial tone, and after a while, the call ended. Ichigo scowled, and tried dialling again. After a while, he sighed. "Change of plan, we're gonna have to walk, then we need to find a car. After that, you're driving."

Ted gripped the steering wheel so hard that his knuckles turned white, and he rubbed his left eye, pushing his glasses upwards.  Sai was watching him, worry on his face.  "Just like we practiced, Sai, did you see Kasai?"

"No, he wasn't at the location when we arrived."

"Did Kasai have anyone with him?"

"I didn't see him."

"Where is Kasai?"

"He hasn't said."

"Good," Ted pushed the car door open, and walked into the tall building with Sai trailing behind him.  He walked to the front desk, greeting the lady sitting at the computer.  "Hey Cathy, room number?"

"Number 14 on the second floor today, Ted, how have you been?"

"Sorry, I'm in a bit of a rush, it's about Kasai, I really don't have the time, I'll catch you later though?"  Ted didn't wait for an answer as he speed walked towards the stairs, Sai following him, waving Cathy a sympathetic goodbye.

Sai played at follow the leader with Ted, whenever Ted pushed his hair back, Sai would do the same, and when he pushed his glasses up, Sai would do the same with his imaginary glasses, earning an affectionate death glare from Ted when he noticed.

Before long, the brothers stood in front of the corresponding door.  "Don't forget, I'll be out in a few minutes."  Then, Ted quickly but audibly knocked on the door three times. It opened after a few seconds.

Sai waited anxiously outside, tempted to press his ear against the door and listen to what was being said. However, he didn't want to think of the consequences that would arise from this act. After what seemed like an eternity, Ted came out, and Sai went in. Their shoulders brushed and Ted gave a warning glance at his brother, before Sai was completely alone.

Or so he felt. In reality, there was a man sitting at a desk right in front of him. He gestured to a chair for Sai to sit down. The boy complied reluctantly, an uneasy expression on his face. "You understand that this conversation will be recorded for official purposes?" The man asked.

Sai replied clearly that he understood. "Then let's begin. When was the last time you saw Kasai Kagakutekina?"

"My brother was close with him, but I've never met him."

"You reported that he requested assistance at a certain location."

"He wasn't there when we arrived."

"There's no use lying, my dear boy."

"It's the truth."

"What if I told you that if you continued this way, your brother would die?"  At this, Sai clamped his mouth shut.

"What do you mean by that...?" He asked slowly, carefully, aware that he was treading into forbidden territory, and that one wrong move would land him into an unpleasant demise.

"We know Ted lied to us.   It would take some persuading, and there's no guarantee, but maybe if you tell me the truth right now, you'll see him again."

Sai's face raged with anger, he stood up so violently that the chair he sat on was knocked back, and he grabbed the shirt of the man across the desk.  However, the man pulled a gun from under the desk, warning Sai by prodding the side of his head with the metal object.

"Calm down, unless you want to die right here."

"Where's Ted?"

"Sit down, or I'll shoot."

Sai didn't sit, but he let go of the man and instead leaned forward on his hands against the table, warm tears spilling out of his eyes which he didn't bother trying to wipe away.

"They went to a place just north of a small village near Nagoya... you can't miss it if you go there."

Sai reluctantly provided a specific location to the man. He nodded, at last putting the gun back under the table. "You understand the consequences if they aren't there?" Sai nodded grimly.

"You're dismissed. Unless he's already been taken, Ted will be waiting for you."

Sai hurried down the stairs, and barely glanced at Cathy as he sat down in a chair. The sky turned dark, and Cathy began to pack her things to go home. She stopped in front of the sniffling boy. "What happened to Ted?" She asked softly.

Sai shook his head, the topic was clearly not open for discussion. Cathy pulled the boy up. "I'll take you home, maybe he'll come by later." The false enthusiasm didn't soothe either of them, but they were both too tired to mourn.
