Ichigo patted your back again. "It's okay, y/n, here, have some water."
Recently, you had been struggling with food and drink. Your appetite had gone, and whatever food you did eat only ended up all over Ichigo's property, he already had to order a new rug.
In addition to this issue, you also struggled to get more than an hour or two of sleep per night. In the past week you had thinned significantly, and you were exhausted. This was showing on your face, your eyes were becoming sunken and your skin looked dull.
Ichigo yawned, "I'll clean it up, go back to sleep," but you didn't have the strength to get off the floor. Helping you up, "how come you're like this recently, hm?" You just shivered.
"Maybe you ate something bad... I'll get you some medicine tomorrow, or rather when the sun comes up."
You felt your body come in contact with soft bedsheets, and Ichigo's cold hand pressed against your forehead. He sighed and left, probably to get a wet cloth.
Keeping true to his word, Ichigo gently shook you awake, brandishing a herbal medicine. "Open wide, y/n," the medicine tasted fine, but after not eating properly in so long you gagged. "Keep it down, it'll help." He pulled you to his chest and rocked you gently.
You were all sweaty, but you felt cold, and your stomach growled. "You wanna have another shot at eating something?" You groaned at the suggestion, even though you knew it was in your best interests. "Come on, tell me anything you want to eat,"
You didn't reply for a few moments, but when you did you were surprised at your response. "I want.... Some strawberries." Ichigo kissed you on top of your head, before laying you down. "I'll be right back, okay?"
You heard a few noises, then the sound of the door slamming was heard throughout the house. Wait, the door? You were still in his room, could you.....
You pushed yourself up, immediately struck with dizziness and colourful dots overtook your vision. You wanted to collapse right there, but you couldn't pass on another chance.
It was unlikely there was a spare key lying around, but then again Ichigo had left in a hurry. Maybe the door wasn't even locked. If it was, and there was no key, surely you could smash a window, if the glass was too hard, you could use a chair, or anything.
When your vision cleared, you slowly stood up, planting one foot in front of the other slowly. However, after only a few steps, your knees gave way and you blacked out, sleep was overdue.
"Trying to escape again?" You were greeted with Ichigo's look of disappointment. He sat you on the bed, and placed a bowl of strawberries next to you. "I had to ask the cashier to get them, but otherwise it was pretty much alright getting there and back."
Your head felt more clear after a nap, Ichigo must've been watching you for a while, since it was dark out by now. "After you finish eating, you should take some more medicine, you look better already."
You took a strawberry and took a small bite out of it. A drop of water splashed on your skin. "I, uh, need the bathroom," Ichigo nodded and asked if you wanted some help getting there, which you declined.
It was ironic, you were meant to be the one helping him get around. You didn't know what Ichigo was talking about, you didn't look any better, but then again it's not like he has great eyesight. You turned away from the mirror. At least you felt a bit better.
You got back, and sat down next to him again, the bowl of strawberries in between you both. "I hoped you would've given up trying to escape by now," you were slowly chewing another strawberry, Ichigo hadn't even touched them.
"N-no, I just needed the bathroom, promise," you mumbled.
"Promise?"
You nodded. He extended his hand, and you raised an eyebrow. However, you didn't reject the childish gesture, and you wrapped your pinky around his. There was a small smile on Ichigo's face.
To give your lie more credibility, you took a strawberry and held it up to his lips. He didn't protest, and let you feed it to him. You took another for yourself, and noticed that Ichigo was staring at you in anticipation.
You fed him another strawberry, and this continued until the bowl was empty. "Here, this is your medicine, I think you're okay to take it yourself now, the doses are on the back, you can read them better than me."
You nodded, and left the medicine on the bedside table of Ichigo's room. The medicine must've worked extremely well since you were back to your usual self within a week, not that you looked full of life since being imprisoned anyway.
Currently, Ichigo was watching a movie with you. Well, he was watching you watch the movie. When the credits rolled, he cleared his throat. "I have some work to do tomorrow... I'll be gone for a while." You froze up at the thought of being locked up in the attic while he was gone.
"I thought you might get bored while I'm gone, so I ordered you some fabrics, you know, for your designs." A part of you felt grateful, but then again maybe it was just Stockholm syndrome kicking in, so you told yourself not to be too excited.
"Can I trust you to behave while I'm gone? You have enough food, so you have no reason to leave." You turned your head, he still had that calm look on his face. You nodded frantically and he laughed quietly.
"I knew I could rely on you."
"Have you seen a man with red hair recently, visually impaired?" Maki asked the pharmacist.
"I'm afraid I haven't."
"He came in here yesterday, 8:24 am,"
The lady at the counter turned around and called a name. "This is Naomi Kagakutekina, she was on shift yesterday, maybe she can help you find who you're looking for."
The previous woman left, leaving Maki with Naomi. There was something unnerving about the woman. She looked old, yet also young, and had thin, but bright, red hair. Like someone else she knew. Composing herself, Maki asked her the same question.
She only shook her head. "I've never seen someone with that description in my life, except for myself," she indicated to her red hair and pale orange eyes. Maki frowned, not just from the clear lie, but also at the resemblance.
"If you'd like, you can have a look at the cctv footage." Maki accepted the offer, and she was led into a back room with a large screen. Looking through the footage, which was low quality and the movements often lagged, there was no Ichigo.
"I see, I must've been mistaken, thank you for your time." Naomi waved a gloved hand at the detective as she left the pharmacy.
