It hasn't gotten easier, but every time she brings it up to Vera that she's struggling she just says to tell Leif and then brushes her off which annoys Tiana. She understands that Vera never really was involved in the business, she just liked the shiny things that came with Anton running it as did Tiana but Vera never knew what Anton had to do so Vera and Tiana could have those shiny things but now that Tiana took over, she was drowning and since she was a woman she couldn't admit weakness, especially not to Leif who she knows is just waiting for something big that he can use to try and take over. It's already a big enough fuck you that he's controlling her finances, it's humiliating when she has to cut back on payment for some of the workers because she wouldn't have enough for everyone under the Malinowski business to have a payment.

It was her goal for Leif to get his fingers out of the business, she knew that this isn't what Anton wanted even though he made him the financial advisor, and if Tiana is wrong about Anton and he did want this then as much as it pains Tiana to think about, it's a good thing he isn't alive because she has to change things, every time she's around Leif it feels like she can't breathe, he makes her feel small and she doesn't appreciate that.

Tiana's hand that was holding the pen over the documents she had to sign jerked when someone knocked on her office door, she sighed and placed her pen back into the ink well before lifting her head and looking towards the door. "Come in," Tiana says sharply before leaning back in her chair and clasping her hands together letting them rest on her lap. "Hello darling, I hope I'm not interrupting?" Vera raised her eyebrow but didn't wait for Tiana to say anything before she entered the room and sat in the chair across from Tiana.

"You aren't." Tiana sighed as she reached for the glass of whiskey that she had on the table, she knows that Vera doesn't like that she drinks at her age, especially not whiskey but since taking over Tiana has started to need it just so she can get through her workload. Vera slightly rolled her eyes but she didn't comment on it. "You keep asking me for business advice, I'm aware I'm not the most helpful but that's because, with your father, I didn't need to be. I didn't need to know the ends and out of this business and I didn't want to." Vera started, Tiana looked away and rolled her eyes as she took a long sip of her whiskey. "Is there a point mother?" Tiana asked snappily, Vera huffed and sat up straighter in her chair.

"While I was out shopping today I overheard some of the other ladies talking about how their husbands hire assistants, so I thought maybe you can do that. That way you have someone to do some of your workloads and you can focus on finding a man, you want an heir right? Considering your father died without warning we never know what will happen now." Tiana sucked her teeth as she thought over what Vera shared, when Vera first said it she was going to give it a quick no but after she heard the rest of Vera's spiel she realized that her mother wasn't wrong, with her Dad gone it told her that nothing is written, she didn't predict herself having to take over the company at 17 so if she wants someone to pass the company to she needs to get started.

She lets out a sigh and runs her hand through her dark hair. "I'll have my workers ask around. If that doesn't work I'll put an ad on the shopfronts. I shall try." Tiana didn't mention the whole finding a spouse, she felt that it was implied but she also thought it would be improper to just leave all the work for her assistant to do while she tried to find a suitable spouse, she knew that it wasn't right. "That's all I ask darling." Vera stood up and reached over caressing Tiana's cheek before pulling back, Tiana was frozen by the touch. She gulped as she watched Vera walk out of her office and back into the house.

Tiana's shoulder dropped when she heard the door click closed, she scooted the chair back and stood up she walked over to the bookshelf and grabs the bottle of whiskey that was displayed on the shelf. Glancing at the glass that was on the table she shrugs before she unscrews the top and drinks from the bottle, she winces when it burns her throat but it was just what she needed. She let out a cough as she roughly placed the bottle on the desk, Tiana rummaged around the desk before she found what she was looking for.

She chuckled as she wrote to ask about assistant on a random sheet of paper before she grabbed the bottle again and walked over to the velvet couch that was in the corner. The couch was a personal touch that Tiana added, she thought that it was too stuffy in her office and that she needed to add some feminine touch to it so she added her giant self-portrait in the middle of the room on the wall behind her desk she added a few other things but the main things where the couch and the portrait.

Tiana lets out a chuckle as she remembers Leif's shocked face when he walked into her office right after she had the portrait hung up, he was shocked and Tiana saw a tiny bit of anger on his face before he switched to a wicked smile that never failed to send chills down Tiana's spine. The girl in question shuffled so her head was pillowed on top of the armrest as she let her feet hang off the edge, she took a sip of whiskey before placing it on the floor next to her. She felt a little bit of whiskey drip out of the side of her mouth because of the angle she was sitting at but ignored it, that was a problem for later just like everything else in Tiana's life.
