Tiana walked with her head high as she walked in towards the Geldrenner Hotel, she was planning on giving her advisors Betty's file so they can decide if she can work for Tiana or not. She thinks it's stupid for them to have an opinion about someone who is going to be Tiana's right-hand woman but she knows that she has to appease them to keep the Malinowski business alive and running under the Malinowski name.
Tiana tilted her hands in acknowledgment towards the doorman who quickly opened the door. "Do you need me to carry anything, Ma'am?" The doorman asks making Tiana shake her head. "I got it, thank you though." Tiana walked through the door and went straight to the front desk. "I'm Tiana Malinowski and the conference room is booked for me today." The woman looked up startled before quickly nodding her head and leading Tiana towards the room with a big table in it. She was surprised to see everyone already waiting for her but she didn't comment.
"Take my coat," Tiana tells the woman who led her into the room, Tiana placed the paperwork about Betty down on the table before allowing the woman to take her coat off. She watched carefully as the woman placed her coat on the coat rack that was by the door. "Can I get anything else?" The woman asked from by the door, before anyone could say anything Tiana interjected. "Whiskey, please. Thank you." Tiana nodded at the woman to gesture for her to leave which she did to go get the whiskey.
"Why did you call us here?" Leif said from Tiana's right, she tried her hardest to not roll her eyes when she turned to look him in the eye. "I found an assistant for myself, I think she's a perfect fit and I want to hire her." Tiana placed the paper about Betty in the middle and her advisors stood up slightly so they could read it. "No way." One of her other advisors said with a shake of their head and Tiana was met with nods of agreement from the rest of her advisors. "Listen, she may not be perfect in the financial area of things but I want to give her this opportunity, she has nothing, she has no one." Tiana folds her hands in her lap.
"She's an orphan, she's from the streets, Tiana." One of her advisors from beside Leif said. "When we're in a meeting you will address me as Miss. Malinowski, because like it or not I'm over the business now." From beside her, she could hear Leif snort but she ignored it. "You know, I'm just trying to think of what your Dad would say." Leif picks up the file that Tiana made on Betty and looks at it with a sneer before turning towards Tiana with a smug smile on his face.
She fights down the rage that is boiling in her belly and gives Leif a fake grin. "He would say to go do it because he knows that I need the help. He trusts my judgment enough that he knows that I wouldn't put myself on the line for something that wouldn't work which is why I run the business so it would be nice to have your support in what I'm doing but regardless if I have I'm going to hire her because I want and I can." Tiana looked at all her shocked advisors with a smug smile. "Well, you know that you're going to have to pay her yourself."
Leif was trying to make her crack but she didn't waver. "Yes, I know. I will pay her a fair amount all while having enough money to pay my other workers." Tiana had so much more she could say but she didn't want to lose her cool too much in the presence of her advisors, which is what Leif is trying to do but Tiana isn't going to take the bait. Whatever Leif was going to say was interrupted by the woman from the front desk bringing a bottle of whiskey with enough glasses for everyone at the table. "Thank you," Leif muttered as the woman started to pour whiskey into his glass after she placed it down.
When she served everyone but Tiana, Tiana stopped her and tapped the table the woman understood the gesture and placed the bottle of whiskey on the table. "I like my whiskey," Tiana smirked as she picked up the bottle and started to pour some whiskey into the glass, it wasn't a lot but it was more than Leif had which Tiana could tell annoyed her Uncle. "I think that'll be all," Tiana said to the woman without getting any input from any of the men in the room, one glance at them and Tiana knew that they were annoyed.
So she sat back in the chair and crossed her legs in a very ladylike manner and waited for someone to speak that wasn't Tiana, as she listened to them go on and go about various shipments of which Tiana knows all about because she's the one that does the paperwork she keeps staring at Leif out of the corner of her eyes while she ships on her whiskey. After she poured her whiskey she noticed that like what she was doing Leif couldn't stop staring at her either which meant that she was doing her job well.
"So, shall we end this meeting?" Tiana spoke when she realized that they have covered everything that they needed to for today. "Same time next week?" Leif smirks as he scoots back from his chair and stands up. Tiana gathers her paperwork and nods before standing up away from the chair. "Let me help you," Leif says when they're walking towards the exit together, Tiana pressed her red lips together as she reluctantly nods.
"Thank you," Tiana says through gritted teeth after he places the coat around her. "Of course, see you soon." Leif winked at her before opening the door and walking out of it letting it shut in her face, luckily all her other advisors left or Tiana would be more embarrassed but she tightens her lips and opens the door before walking out of it.
Even if the advisors disapproved of her hiring Betty, Tiana was going to do it anyway.
