Tiana was feeling the right amount of buzz as she walked into the Geldrenner Hotel, she was planning on meeting Leif in the same place she had them look over Betty, well Nina's file... How poetic Tiana couldn't help but think as she watched Nina twist the knob of the door to the meeting room. She tried to hide her surprise at Leif already being in the room, he was usually a little late when Tiana asked him to meet so the fact that he was early, worried Tiana.
"Finally, I was beginning to think you would never come." Leif smugly said as he picked up his whiskey and took a sip. "Well, you're early." Tiana excused stiffly. Leif just scoffed and watched as Tiana took her spot at the head of the table. "Is anyone else coming? Or just us?" Leif's eyes flickered toward Nina was sitting next to Tiana.
Tiana had to hide the fact that her hand was shaking as she reached toward Nina who produced a file from her bag. "Just us, which is good because I don't think you'll want anyone else to be present for this." Leif didn't say anything he just raised his eyebrow in surprise. "It's been six months since I took over the business. Since then I've had to pay my workers out of my pocket. Not anymore." Leif tilted his head as he slowly placed his glass on the table and crossed his arms resting back against the chair. "I'm curious, how do you plan to do? I have control over your money, or did you forget in that woman brain of yours." Leif smirked while Tiana gripped his hand in a tight fist under the table so he wouldn't see that he rattled her.
She snapped her fingers at Nina who grabbed a big amount of Kruge bills, Nina handed it to Tiana who placed it on top of the file she brought and looked at Leif with a smirk. Her uncle was shocked at the amount of money that was presented. "How did you get that?" Leif questioned voice going low as he looked at the amount in shock. "How I always get money, the Malinsowki way. Now it could be all yours." Tiana bartered as she twiddled one of the bills in between her index finger and thumb. At first, Leif was interested but then he sat back and looked at Tiana with a mix of anger and confusion. "What do you mean? What is in it for you?" Before Tiana could open her mouth, a knock sounded on the door.
"Come in," Nina said after sneaking a glance at Tiana who nodded her head. "Sorry to interrupt but I have a visitor for Betty?" The man looks around for a second before giving the three of them a smile. "Sorry," Nina muttered as she stood up and followed the man out. "How funny, I thought she didn't have any family," Leif commented raising an eyebrow at Tiana who didn't take the bait, instead she slide the money aside and opened the file that was in front of her.
"Like I was saying, you can have all this kruge if you sign away your rights to the company. Let me buy your share and then you never have to worry about the business again." Tiana smirked as she watched Leif's jaw clench as he processed what she said and the implications. "You can't do that, I am the rightful heir to the business." Leif sat up straighter as if that was going to do him any good, Tiana let out a loud chuckle. "You aren't Leif, I am. Daddy left me in charge, he wanted to fire you, you know." Tiana lied, It was risky but Leif didn't have any proof of otherwise. He scoffed loudly.
"And what, I take the kruge and just watch you as you burn the business?" Leif raised an eyebrow, Tiana shook her head before she produced a quill from what seemed like the air. "You can do anything you want, but you're going to get this kruge and give me control back. If you don't, well things won't end well for you." It was an empty threat but Leif didn't know that. Leif's eyes flickered towards the door when it started to open, it was just Nina coming back in from whoever wanted her attention, so Tiana looked back toward Leif with a raised eyebrow.
She tilted the quill toward him and waited until he took it, he let out a shallow breath before yanking the quill out of her hand and grabbing the paper as she slide it over. He quickly signed his name before placing the quill on the table not so softly. "There, can I have the kruge now? I'm done." Leif stood up quickly so fast that the chair almost was knocked back onto the floor. "Yes you may," Tiana smirked as she handed the stack of kruge over.
Tiana couldn't help but smirk as she walked Leif walk of the room, richer but jobless just the way Tiana wanted. She turned her attention toward Nina who looked just as proud. "Who was that?" She didn't make any small talk, she wanted the truth. Nina looked surprised before she pressed her lips together in a sad manner, a few months ago Tiana would want to kiss the sadness away but not anymore. "It was Jesper, we have a job."
