Chapter 24: Suspicions Settled

"NA JAEMIN, YOU FUCKING MONSTER!"

Jaemin pushed off the limbless torso of the crying young man away before he got up in a flash of a second, as he stood there facing Yeonjun, who was reading to pounce on him.

Yeonjun rushed towards Jaemin with his QK, as Jaemin only smirked at him.

"You're still pathetic after all, 'brother'."

Jaemin jumped backwards onto the window that was directly behind him as it shattered on contact with the force of his body. He continued falling, soon before he grabbed onto a pole, swinging himself into another window, shattering it as he rolled inside of another floor of the neighboring building all the while Yeonjun paused at the window, looking down from the pane of where glass was once.

"HE'S IN THE NEXT BUILDING TO THE LEFT, YOUR TARGET IS TO TRAP HIM, GO GO GO!"

Hueningkai commanded the young Investigators as they nodded in affirmation, soon scattering to the other building while Yeonjun still just looked at where Jaemin had escaped from.

"We need to get him and capture him, fast. If he gets away our cover is blown."

Yeonjun added, only Taehyun being there at this point. Both of them made their way out into the open ground, as multiple other vampires now started appearing out of thin air.

There were 5 vampires in total, all surrounding the several tens of Investigators.

Taehyun kept his QK at ready, as he looked around in full alert. He took the responsibility of keeping the amatuer Investigator deaths to a minimum, thus circling around the group of young Investigators, occasionally helping out civilians escape from the place safely.

There was a bright light shined on the small group of Investigators Taehyun was with, as there was soon a small thud heard from a distance.

Taehyun immediately turned his attention in the direction as he slowly approached the cause of a thud, before there was a voice, coming straight from the helicopter's announcement system.

"Well I hope you had fun, we've got what we needed and.. aren't you humans fucking filthy liars.."

The one doing the announcement laughed coldly, almost mocking them. Soon enough the helicopter lost control before someone else from the helicopter dived down straight to the small crowd of Investigators.

The helicopter soon crashed nearby and the darkness that was found with the light vanishing was soon taken care of with the explosion and fire.

The one diving from the helicopter took the chance of the distraction as he soon attacked the small crowd with his claw-like nails that protruded.

It was Beomgyu. He quickly managed to scratch Taehyun just while he was distracted, as the other vampires then came out of their places and attacked as well.

"EVERYBODY ATTACK, AND DON'T HESITATE"

He said as he took on Beomgyu himself. He tried to swing his QK on him, but Beomgyu was way quicker, effortlessly dodging it as he tried to get a firm grasp on Taehyun without his weapon. He managed to grasp Taehyun by his neck, clinging onto his back as he desperately tried to get the protective gear off him to end his life right then and there.
