Chapter 5: Highs and Lows

Yoona was a turned vampire. Hyejin had found out her best friend wasn't actually human and was now a turned vampire when Yoona broke it to her, that her past boyfriend, was a vampire and had gotten extremely hungry and out of control, so he bit her, but as soon as he realized it, he left, and broke up with her. Though, Hyejin hadn't told Yoona that she was a so-called monster of society herself.

Later that week, when it was the first full moon after she had been bitten, she felt extremely hungry as well, but no matter what she ate, nothing satisfied her hunger. She had gotten out for some fresh air then, on the streets, this being too much for her, when suddenly, as soon as she was outside, a wave of..something hit her. It was unexplainable, but she felt as if she was going to go crazy. Her sense of smell was abnormally high, and she knew it, all she could smell among all those people in public, was the blood, blood, blood, and more blood. It was driving her insane and she picked up a MUCH stronger scent from a corner. In an alley. She went towards it, trying to keep her craze down to look a little decent, but as soon as she got in the alley, she lost it and went completely crazy. Her whites had become black and her pupils were red, as she kept chanting, 'Blood, blood, blood, GIVE ME BLOOD! I NEED BLOOD, GIVE IT TO ME!' She had no control now, and she had no idea of why she was saying that, she just was. As deeper she went in the alley, the stronger both got. The scent AND her craze. And her not knowing, there were two figures in the alley. One of twos eyes went to the side, as it heard the crazy sounds and the chanting. It got up, leaving the other figure, rather body to fall, as it turned, ready to fight whoever the hell was here to invade her feeding.

The figure was Hyejin. As the steps got closer, Hyejin could see through her night vision, a figure in a hoodie headed her way. Soon it stopped. And looked up at her, smiling like a madwoman as Hyejin's red eyes with white pupils went wide. It was Yoona, chanting 'blood, blood' over and again? She thought. Hyejin could see Yoona's fangs through her smile, as when Yoona saw Hyejin, her smile dropped, seeing Hyejin, but with red glowing eyes, with a dead body, blood coming out its neck as she had blood smeared on her lip too. Her breathing got uneven, as she whispered, 'You-you're a v-vampire?' 

She asked hesitantly. Hyejin dropped her fists which were ready to fight until she realized it was Yoona, as she turned to the body again, and picked it up. She held it by the neck, as she brought it closer to Yoona. 

'Feed off of him. At least you'll survive.' 

Yoona's breathing hitched as tears filled her black and red eyes. Hyejin waited on the sideline, waiting for her to do what she expects. 

'Go ahead.. there's nothing to be ashamed of.. trust me' 

Hyejin said as Yoona's tears fell off. She was hesitant yet slowly brought her mouth closer, but ultimately failed in doing what she just had to. Hyejin, knowing her best friend, knew that Yoona wouldn't be able to, so she took a rougher approach, grabbing Yoona by the back of her neck and pressing her finger on some point of her neck. Yoona yelled in pain as Hyejin took the opportunity to slam her fangs into the guy's neck.

Yoona's fangs now in his neck, and she had lost all control again as she thirsty fed off of him. Hyejin let go of the guy as he fell to the ground, and so did Yoona, still sucking the last of his life, his blood out of him.

Hyejin's senses also became abnormally strong in a second, and it was strange, considering she had just fed off of two humans, the other one laying dead in the very end of the alley. Her eyes had mutated again as she smelled the wave of influence.
