As of today, things are changing. Fast. It's been a few days since the last incident with Yeonjun. We've been moving fast, training with our weapons, our agility. We didn't want to take chances.

Me and Hyejin went back to Naoko's captivity room today. She was in the same white sleeved shirt with white pants, her hair open and a bit frazzled. She looked like she had all life sucked out of her face. She was pale, no warmth in her eyes anymore, no emotion on her face either.

She moved, talked and acted so monotonously it was like she had become a robot. It had barely been months since we had her here and she was already losing her sanity.

"What were the VCO Investigators doing at Central before the attack?"

Nothing. She was still sitting upright infront of us on her bed's edge, zoning out as she stared at some specific point on the floor. We sat parallel to her, in the glass room. There was nothing in here except a jug of water, her bed and a lot of unnecessary space. Everything in here was white. No other other, not even any different shade of white, just blinding bright white everywhere.

"You were a Investigator too, weren't you? What were the top 5 planning to do with all those vampires in captivity?"

Nothing again. She didn't even shift a bit. I heard Hyejin sigh beside me in frustration, muttering something before she was soon getting up from her seat when Naoko finally talked.

"What did you two do.."

The rest was inaudible. She stopped. Hyejin heard her talk too, I assume as she was sitting back down now, pulling her seat closer to Naoko.

"What did you say?"

I asked as her as she finally moved for the first time in the time we've been here interrogating her. She pulled her neck back from dropping low, looking straight into Hyejin's eyes now.

"What did you two do to my friends.. Hyejin.. Yoona.. What did you do to them?"

Her voice was barely above a whisper but we heard it clearly. Hyejin tilted her neck, cracking the bones to let off some stress that built there.

"We're sitting right infront of you, aren't we? Not a single scratch on either of us apart from what you left so here we both are. The orphanage sheltered, Lee Hyejin and goody two shoes, Kim Yoona. You remember us, don't you?"

Ah, sometimes I really the sadistic side of Hyejin. It's as if she said all the curses I wanted to say and more at her without even saying them.

"No. The Hyejin and Yoona I remember were fucking human. They wouldn't hold someone they knew for years captive like-"

"The Naoko we knew for years wouldn't have gone behind my back or tried to fuck with Hyejin's life either, but I guess we never really know about people, huh?"

Disgust. It flowed in my veins each time she opened her mouth. We both saw how she opened her mouth to retort back but shut it back up just as quickly.

"You really are lucky I saved you, Mizako. I could've easily left you there to burn in agony when the explosion happened. Left for you to face the worst. But even after all I did with all the damage you've done to us both, you can't even show your gratitude by answering a few questions?"

When Naoko didn't answer or move again, I could sense Hyejin getting frustrated again.

"I will. But.. I have a condition. Why- what.. happened to you both?"
