It's been a week. A week of, um, I don't know if I could call it my new life? It seems like I just moved in with Olivia, but it's changed a lot. I think even more than we expected. But only in a good way.
"Good morning," Olivia said as she walked into my room.
"They didn't teach you to knock when you were a kid."
"Get over it bestie" she said smiling and sitting down on my bed.
I moved over to give her more room.
"You're not in your pajamas" I pointed out.
"Yeah, I know. That's why I came. I got a call from my agent today. There's a Disney movie they're looking for an urgent replacement for the lead actress. They recommended me, so now I have an audition and I'm leaving for the day."
"Wow, that's so cool! What's the movie?" I asked with interest.
"I can't tell you right now, you know"
"Big deal, it's me."
"Nope" Olivia shook her head
"Ugh, I know you only do it to tease me," I rolled my eyes, "then good luck."
"Thank you" replied Liv and gave me a hug that I returned, hugging her back tightly, smelling her perfume.
We broke the hug and Liv got off my bed. I did, too, and walked out into the kitchen, watching Liv put her shoes on in the hallway
"Break a leg!" Shouted I from the kitchen.
"Screw it!" Olivia replied and walked out.
I looked around and went to take a shower. The apartment was so empty. Olivia and I were either sitting there or going out. So there was always some kind of noise in the apartment. We were either talking, or we were watching a movie, or Olivia was making up songs. Anyway, there was something going on, and now it was quiet.
I took my phone to my bluetooth speaker and put on Taylor Swift's album "folklore." I even remember listening to it together with Liv on the facetime, because of the quarantine, being far away from each other, deep into the night. Crazy, ha ha.
I made myself some Korean sandwiches for breakfast and decided to unpack some of my stuff. Yeah, you wouldn't believe it, but half of my boxes were still standing around. Even though Olivia had shown me where to put my stuff, I'd never gotten around to it. And now I had nothing to do. I mean, I had a couple of things to do, but I wasn't in the mood for anything serious right now, so I decided that cleaning was the easier option.
With Taylor's melodious voice I dutifully told boxes like a good girl for a couple of hours. But then I thought enough was enough and stopped.
Already tired enough I stretched out on the couch and ordered myself a seafood salad on delivery. It was quickly delivered and I sat down at the table, leafing through my Instagram feed. After lunch, I exercised a bit and stretched out on the couch. Again. So yes,I just lay there, scrolling Tik Tok , not noticing how dark it was getting outside, it just was one of this days.
I was distracted only when my eyes began to hurt. God, how much time had I spent like this? I looked at the clock; it was almost ten o'clock. Which meant I had spent four hours on Tik Tok. I got up from the couch and tossed the phone aside, it was making me sick.
I grabbed the plaid off the couch and walked out onto the balcony of Olivia's apartment. It was already chilly outside and a slight breeze was blowing. But for me it was already a pleasure. I stood like that for twenty minutes, thinking about everything.
Then I came back, making myself a pot of peppermint tea, and called Olivia.
"Hey, what's up?" I began.
"Y/n, I'm taking a cab home. I'll be back in half an hour and I'll tell you everything. I'm just really tired."
"Sure, I'll wait for you" I replied and passed out.
Liv really did show up soon. Tossed her apartment keys next to the mirror and pulled off her shoes.
"You've been through a lot," I said as I greeted her.
"Having a music career, I'd forgotten that filming is so hard." she said as she walked towards the back of the apartment.
I followed her.
"Filming? So you got in?"
"Yes."
"Og.my God! Congratulations!" I clapped my hands.
Liv smiled tiredly and said "thank you but I beg you, don't make any loud noises. I want to die now, honestly."
"Okay. Would you like some hot mint tea?"
"Very much and something to eat, because I've only had cheesecake and coffee."
"Jesus, they didn't feed you?" I asked, handing Olivia a cup of tea.
She sat down, wrapping her arms around the cup.
"There just wasn't time. They're really pressed for time, so they're all running and working like crazy."
"I see. Would you like an omelet?"
"Anything."
I quickly sliced the tomatoes and made Olivia an omelet with some tomatoes, mozzarella and spinach. She pounced on the food like a hungry beast and within seconds the plate was empty.
"Thank you Y/n, you are my savior. It was delicious."
"You're always welcome," I shrugged.
"I'm going to take a shower now and after that we can watch next episode of Sex and the City."
"We can just go to bed. It's been a busy day and you have to get up early tomorrow I take it."
"I don't care. It's not the first time. I want to know what happens next, and since when are you so nerd? Where's the girl who partied untill 4am in high school and than came to the first lesson on two hours of sleep with hangover, surviving on just redbull?"
I threw my hands up in the air, showing my agreement. We decided to watch in Olivia's bedroom. Comfortably ensconced on the soft bed of the huge bed Liv turned on the show and we began to watch.
We watched more than one episode and only at one o'clock in the morning, Olivia who had her eyes so sleepy she wasn't thinking anymore, I said good night to her and left.
She fell asleep the moment the TV turned off. I left quietly and went to my room, where I soon fell asleep, too.
