The calm before the storm.

I excitedly looked at myself in the mirror, and checked my makeup one more time. Tonight Olivia and I were going to the MTV Music Awards, where she would be performing and where she was also nominated.

She's taken me to awards and after-parties before, but this will be the first time we're going as a couple. Of course no one knows about it, we keep it a secret from the world, only our families and a couple of closest friends know. To the rest of people, we're still best friends and we couldn't find a better cover.

Of course we would tell everyone, but it's complicated by Olivia's worldwide fame.
Paparazzi, rumors, fakes, discussions are what will follow a public relationship. And our love is not for show. What happens between us is too tender and too personal to share with the world, at least right now.

I walked out to Olivia, who, unlike me, was dressed in casual clothes.

"The car's waiting for us out front and you look great," she said smiling.

"Thanks, then let's go."

We walked out this way so we don't get spotted but just in case Olivia and I don't hold hands because who knows which bush the paparazzi crowd is hiding in. Unfortunately we can't control it.Under close guard, we got into the car. The ride was fine, everything was fine. When we arrived Liv leaned into me and we merged in a long, deep kiss

"I won't be able to kiss you for the next few hours and that's the worst part."

"I know, but we'll have to be patient."

Still, under black umbrellas so we wouldn't be seen, we made our way inside the building where the award ceremony would take place.

When we arrived Olivia was immediately surrounded by a crowd of people and taken somewhere. I spent the time hanging around, occasionally seeing Liv checking the microphone or something else.

Already when the hall was filled with people and everything went to the stage of readiness I managed to sneak in to Olivia.

Everything was almost ready and she was standing without disturbing the people around her to do something with her hair and dress.

"You look great," I said, smiling.

Of course I would have said much more and less decent things to her, but we were surrounded by people and cameras.

"Thank you" Liv replied and smiled.

I pulled out my phone and took some pictures.
