THIRD PERSON'S POV
Time passed and the days slowly became weeks. Y/N was always asleep, but listened intently to everything going on around her. Natasha made a habit of coming in to check on Y/N several times a day and sometimes she would stay overnight. Tony always checked to see if she was stable, and as he had already announced, she was. Unfortunately for Y/N, as the days went by, it was harder for her to wake up and the team was also starting to think that she would never wake up.
Y/N'S POV
The room was quiet, it was not too cold or too hot. During those weeks, I listened to the smallest details of everyone who came to visit me. I could tell who was walking by the sound of their footsteps, who was talking by their voice. I know who Wanda is, she came to visit me several times, even though we never really talked. I know who Thor, Clint and Steve are as well. They all seem to be good people.
Someone enters the room and I immediately recognize by her walk that it is Natasha. She walks over, sits on the side of the bed and remains still. I've noticed from time to time that she's not really a sleepy person, almost every night she's been there and on the few nights she wasn't, she was always the first person to enter the room in the morning.
I feel her shifting a bit her position, her foot touch the floor so I can guess that she isn't facing me anymore.
"You know, before you called me, the night you got hurt, when we were texting every day.... Well that was actually... the best thing that ever happened to me... It was the most normal thing I've ever experienced... What I mean is that my whole life has been a disaster. I always wanted to live like a normal person, watch movies, hang out with friends, have a real job without the weight of knowing that I could hurt people with every move I make. It might be stupid but... texting you, about random things, was the closest thing to what I ever wanted... But you know what the worst part is? Is that even that, I screwed it up. I wasn't even able to take care of you, and now, because of me, you might not even wake up."
There is a quick silence before I hear sobs from her.
But- it is absolutely not her fault. She can't blame herself for that. Especially since it's actually quite the opposite, if she hadn't come to get me the night I was stabbed, I probably would have died there. If she hadn't been there, I wouldn't be here today.
I can't let her think it's her fault.
I need to tell her.
I have to wake up now. It's time.
