"Thank you for answering our questions, [Last name]-kun!"
"I should be the one thanking you." [Name] gave the reporter and camera a small smile. "It's not every day that a high school volleyball player gets interviewed. I'm really flattered you chose me."
"Of course!" The reporter said with a smile. "You played a pivotal role in your team's defense against Shiratorizawa! The libero who stopped one of the top three aces in their tracks!"
[Name] let out a small laugh at the statement. "I couldn't have done it without my team. They're really the ones that helped me get all those receives."
The reporter gave a hum and a small bow to the libero. "Well, thank you for your cooperation [Last Name]-kun, and congratulations on your team's win."
[Name] said his goodbyes and waved the reporter goodbye, placing his hands in his pockets and turning around to walk to his captain. Like a switch had flipped, his smile immediately disappeared while his eyes immediately drooped down.
Call him two-faced but he was tired and would've rather spent his time sleeping on the bus than doing an interview.
"What?" [Name] raised an eyebrow at his captain who stared at him with a slightly amused look, which wasn't much of a change from his normal look.
"Nothing," Kazuo shrugged. "Come on, sensei's talking to other coaches."
"And the team?"
"Already on the bus."
[Name] let out a small groan before begrudgingly following his captain.
"Why can't we just go back to the bus already? I'm tired and the only things I want to do is eat, take a warm bath, then pass out on a futon," [Name] said while enumerating each task with his fingers. "Not necessarily in that order."
"Where was that peppy attitude you had during the interview?" Kazuo asked making [Name] raise his eyebrow.
"What's that supposed to mean?" [Name] asked back, sounding a bit cranky at the statement.
"I was just– You know, never mind," Kazuo sighed. "The faster we get sensei, the better. Let's just hope she's not arguing with Kuzuri-sensei."
[Name] couldn't help but snort at that statement and the look on his captain's face, a small pout that didn't really match his exterior. He followed his captain until he heard their coach arguing with Kuzuri Michiko, the coach of the renowned Mujinazaka high, one of the other teams to reach top four after winning against Kamomedai.
[Name] glanced to see Mujinazaka watching the argument with slight interest. He says slightly because he was pretty sure they would rather go back to their inn and take a good long rest. It wasn't until they got a bit closer that he noticed a man watching their argument from up close. A middle-aged man with short, light-colored hair and black-rimmed glasses wearing a black and white track jacket with a calm demeanor surrounding him.
"Who's the old man?" [Name] whispered.
"Inarizaki's coach," Kazuo whispered back.
"Oh," [Name] looked around a bit more to see the team just talking to one another while a few watched the argument going on at the center of it all. He glanced too long at the twins for his own liking. The libero immediately turned around in the opposite direction. "Well, I'll wait for you at the back of the bus Taicho, so you have fun dragging sensei out of that argume–"
