"Oh, it's really no big deal." [Name] shrugged as he looked at the reporter with a formal smile while the camera faced him. "I couldn't have made it without the help of my team. Besides, for my first nationals, I'd say third place isn't bad."
"You're right!" the reporter replied back while cueing the camera to stop recording. "Well, it was very nice of you to answer our questions, [Last Name]-kun! Congratulations on your awards."
"The pleasure's all mine," [Name] said with a small bow as the interviewers went off to check their recordings and find someone else to interview.
The ceremony had just ended as teams went off to either fix their stuff for the trips back home or get dragged into some interviews by reporters. Unfortunately, [Name] fell into the category of the latter while the last time he saw Kazuo, he was answering a few questions from other reporters.
[Name]'s smile immediately disappeared as he pursed his lips and looked down at the bronze medal that was resting on the center of his chest. He slightly lifted the medal to get a better look at it while rubbing his thumb over the etches of the metal disc. It was a bit shinier than he expected as he managed to see his reflection on it. "Huh, it really does match my eyes."
"Y'know, gold would match way more with the way you play though."
[Name] snorted at the compliment as he turned to see Atsumu giving him his usual lazy smile. What he wasn't expecting was the person beside Atsumu considering that he was the person he least expected to see with the setter.
"Well... this sure is an interesting combo," [Name] said as he gave Sakusa a small smile and nod. "You two familiar with each other?"
"Unfortunately," Sakusa said with a sigh. "He won't stop annoying me."
"Don't be like that, Omi-Omi–"
"Never call me that," Sakusa said with a glare.
"Knowing him he probably won't," [Name] said with a soft chuckle.
"That..." Sakusa momentarily paused before letting out a soft sigh from underneath his mask. "Is actually true."
"Wha– Stop talkin' like 'm some kinda pest!" Atsumu shouted before turning to [Name]. "And I thought you were on my team?! Don't you two hate each other?!"
Sakusa and [Name] stared at each other before shrugging at the question. "Eh..."
"I think he's annoying when I'm playing against but I could say the same for a lot of people here. Hate is a strong word..." [Name] drawled out. "And rivals seems too shounen to use for this situation."
"Adversaries?" Sakusa suggested.
"Yeah, I guess that could work." [Name] said before a small pout formed on his face as he turned to Atsumu. "And whaddya mean on the same team?"
"I thought ya two didn't like each other after yer game?!" Atsumu shouted. "So I thought that meant I had someone to annoy the living hell out of Omi with!"
"You're so childish, Miya," Sakusa scoffed while rolling his eyes.
"Isn't that Tsumu's whole charm though?" [Name] asked with a small smile. "Super serious about volleyball but kinda a kid in everything else?"
