[Name] didn't get why they had to travel all the way to the north for summer. It was even harder to leave considering that Bokuto was absolutely bawling at the prospect of not seeing his friend for an entire week and had to be pried off him to actually leave.

"Where are we going again?" [Name] asked while staring outside the window of the front seat while his mother drove the car.

"Sendai."

"I'm guessing not in Tokyo?"

"Miyagi," his mother said while rolling her eyes. "And stop leaning against the car door."

[Name] straightened up his posture while leaning his head against the seatbelt.

"Why are we going there again?" he asked.

"Your grandmother suggested that you stay with one of her friends in Miyagi while me and your father go on a business trip."

"Why couldn't I just stay with Kou-nii?"

That was, indeed, a very good question considering none of the Bokutos would be complaining about taking care of him for a week.

"Your grandmother insisted it," his mother just repeated. "Besides, if I remember correctly, Mineo-san should have a grandson the same age as you."

"If you remember?" [Name] repeated while giving his mother the side eye. "So you're just gonna make me stay with some old dude you haven't seen in a while for a week?"

"Don't give me attitude," his mother huffed, ending the conversation.

[Name] let out a small huff went back to daydreaming while staring outside the car window. The only reason, he actually agreed to the entire thing was because his grandmother suggested it, which meant there was probably something that he'd enjoy, the only problem being that he didn't know what it exactly was. He knew his grandmother well enough that she wouldn't suggest something without reason but that woman was as unreadable as his mother.

It was already afternoon by the time they had arrived at the neighborhood. The first thing he noticed was that there was more greenery compared to the more infrastructure-heavy Tokyo. After entering the suburban part of town, they shortly stopped in front of one of the houses.

"Are we here?" [Name] asked as he stared at the more traditional-looking house in the street, one that reminded him of his own home in Fukuoka.

"Yup," his mother replied while unbuckling her seatbelt as the duo exited the car and walked to the front door.

They didn't even have to knock as the door was immediately opened by an old man with a large smile on his face, prompting [Name] to instinctively immediately hide behind his mother. The old man was pretty short and had a balding head with grey hair forming on the sides and back of his head, but [Name] recognized that smile. It was a smile of confidence, the same one Bokuto had when he let a compliment go to his head.

"Well, isn't that a familiar face!" the old man said in a boisterous voice.

"Nice to see you too, Mineo-san," his mother said with a smile.

"How's the old hag? Is she still being grumpy and refusing to go outside?"

[Name] raised one of his eyebrows at the way how the old man talked about his grandmother. Then again, his grandmother wasn't one to sugarcoat her words and would usually gossip to him about what happens on her sunday tea parties.
