You know those memories that seem like you just want to go back to the time when everything was much simpler when, in reality, it was just the nostalgia? That was how Kenma felt right now playing against [Name].

In theory, it was fun since the now libero made games more... interesting to say the least. What the nostalgia filter happened to remove was the part where [Name] was very, very, very annoying to play against for reasons that will soon become apparent.

"You're gonna burn a hole at the back of my head if you keep staring like that," [Name] said with his hands behind his head and his back facing the net where Kenma stood on the opposite side.

2 - 1

"It's like Kageyama-kun but less menacing," [Name] chuckled as a whistle rang through the air, Ichibayashi's serve as Ken bounced the ball between his hands, taking a few deep breaths. Kenma glanced at the first year before turning back to [Name], a single thought going through his mind.

"You play dirty."

"Really?" [Name] let out before turning around to face Kenma with a smirk. Another whistle rang through the air as Ken got a running start before serving the ball to the other side, only for Yaku to easily receive it. "Up!"

Kenma looked up at the ball as he straightened up while Fukunaga and Yamamoto jumped on the side. Dai and Yori jumped to block the former, but Kenma set the ball towards the other side of the court where Yamamato was ready to spike.

As the ball made contact with the wing spiker's hand, he sent it down to the other side of the court. However, Hiro managed to barely receive the ball sending it into the air. "Senpai!"

"Could be a bit better but good enough," [Name] muttered to himself as moved slightly closer to the net where the ball was about to land. Dai ran up to the other side of the court as Nekoma's front players prepared themselves to block the spike.

[Name] jumped up... and immediately dumped the ball to a spot where Yaku couldn't reach in time, netting Ichibayashi the point.

"I just play like I usually do except, y'know, with all the setting and blocking," [Name] said with a shrug as he turned towards Kenma with a smile. "If you think it's dirty though, nothing I can do about that."

A whistle rang through the air as Nekoma called for a timeout, both teams heading to the benches.

"That was my bad," Yaku said with a soft sigh as he grabbed a water bottle.

"Not your fault," Kenma said with a shrug before staring at the ground, replaying the last few rallies in his head, squinting his eyes at an unsettling thought. "They're worse than Nohebi."

"The snakes?" Yaku repeated before looking at Ichibayashi to see Dai and Ken making exaggerated plays while the rest of their team watched with confusion on their faces. "You sure? Maybe it's just you being competitive."

"Nah, Kenma's right," Kuroo replied giving the setter a pat on the back.

Yaku glanced between the two players before letting out an annoyed huff. "Ok, you're not making his point any clearer."

"You didn't notice Mr. Setter's sudden quick receive?" Kuroo said with a knowing look as Yaku raised his eyebrow and glanced at Ichibayashi before slowly realizing what he meant.
