Sam got back from his morning run and was about to drink some orange juice to get refreshed. Then a knock was heard at his door, and he opened it to see Steve, Adeline, and Natasha.

"Hey guys" Sam greeted a bit surprised

"We're sorry about this" Steve apologized.

"We need a place to lay low" Adeline added with a slight smile

"Everyone we know is trying to kill us" Natasha told him

"Not everyone" Sam said letting them in closing the door and blinds

Steve was cleaning himself up in the bathroom when he noticed Natasha looking sad and zoning out while drying her hair.

"You, okay?" Steve asked her

"Yeah" she answered

He walked out and sat in front of her.

"What's going on?" Steve questioned

Natasha let out a sigh then answered " When I first joined SHIELD. I thought I was going straight. But I guess I just traded in the KGB for HYDRA. I thought I knew whose lies I was telling, but...I guess I can't tell the difference anymore."

"There's a chance you might be in the wrong business" he said repeating what she had told him earning a faint smile from Natasha

"I owe you and Adeline" she said

"It's okay" Steve assured her

"If it was the other way around, and it was down to me to save you and Adeline's life and you be honest with me, would you both trust me to do it?" Natasha said

"I would and I know Adeline would too. Iam always honest and from what I know so is she." he said

"Well, you seem pretty chipper for a person who just found out they died for nothing" she commented

"Well, I guess we just like to know who we are fighting" Steve replied

Sam came in and said " I made breakfast, if you guys...eat that sort of thing "

They smiled at Sam got up to follow him until Steve saw Adeline in the bathroom letting Nat and Sam go into the dining room. Steve leaned on the door frame of the bathroom door as he saw Adeline holding the dog tags that she wore around her neck.

"You, okay?" he asked her worried

She jumped slightly looking at him through the mirror and quickly wiping a tear.

"Y-yeah I'm fine" she says putting on a small smile

"Come on you know I know you better what is it" he tells her, and she turns to face him leaning on the counter
"I just miss him. I wish I was able to see him one last time. If only I had been more careful and fought back more." She said in a shaky voice looking down

"hey" he said and stood in front of her  " Look at me"

She didn't look up believing it was her fault.

Steve cupped her face and made her look at him and wiped her tears with his thumbs.

"I know you did everything you could besides you said it yourself it was a group of them and I'm sure Bucky knew too." Steve assured her and hugged her as she let tears out clinging on to him.

She began to calm down and pulled away a bit saying " You know I was goanna surprise him by telling him I was going to join the military"

"He would have had a heart attack and probably would have tried to make you back down" Steve said letting out a chuckle and earning a smile from Adeline.

"Yeah, he would've. Thank you " Adeline agreed as they pulled a part

"Of course, I'll always be here just like you and bucky where always there for me. Besides your my sister if you don't mind me calling you my sister though you've always been not by blood or any relation, but you always have " Steve said

"I'd like that plus Bucky, and I always thought of you as our brother, though Bucky would flip if he was here listening to you wanting to steal his little sis away" she said with a giggle causing Steve to laugh a bit

"Yeah, he would have" Steve agreed

"Now lets go get something to eat I'm starving" Adeline said earning a chuckle from Steve as they walked out and went to the dining room where Nat and Sam are.
