Headcannons both shown and not portrayed (I forgot them at first):
- Asgore enjoys any walk in nature, especially when he is alone to enjoy it all.
- he looks up the meaning of flowers whenever he sees ones he likes
- Asgore supports any and all local businesses he can, especially small ones
- he loves the changing seasons of spring and fall the most
- he will use flower names as pet names/endearing names (Ex: buttercup, Sunflower, Lilac)

Life is precious, pure, short, and can change in an instant. Not many people could appreciate the little things in life or the life that grew around them in their everyday. You often find joy in the things others often overlooked, in the sunshine, the breeze, the wonders of the seasons around you, just to name a few.

It's hard to find someone with such a similar fascination for nature, but maybe that fascination hides in the most unexpected of places. After all, if a tree can change the color of its leaves, why can't someone do the same, change for the better?

Ever since the monsters and humans have become neighbors again, you've noticed how much the humans cannot seem to accept that the monsters are not as they were told they were. That they, like the leaves, changed with time.

You hum a soft tune, walking through the park and taking in the warm sunshine of spring. Distantly, families played in the field and enjoyed the fresh air. Everything was peaceful and calm, bringing a wave of serenity to the world. Distracted by your mind, you didn't notice the path beginning to curve. A voice soon broke into your thoughts, "Look out, Human!"

You froze one step from getting a cold bath in the lake, taking a few paces back. You turned around to find the person who warned you, "Thank you, I'm sorry I must've been lost in thought."

A tall Goat-like monster in a bright floral-print short smiled at you, his deep voice chuckling as he spoke again sympathetically, "Must have been a wonderful thought."

You smiled and extend your hand to him, "Thanks again, I wasn't planning on a swim this early into spring. I'm (Y/N) by the way! It's nice to meet you." Something about him seemed familiar, you couldn't quite place it.

The monster shakes your hand with a huge fluffy paw, "The pleasure is all mine. My name is Asgore, Asgore Dreemurr." He smiled back at you kindly. "May I ask what has you distracted on such a lovely morning?"

"That's just it, Asgore, it's a great day and I guess I got lost in the beauty of it."

He nods in understanding, "It is a wonderful day, indeed, the perfect day for a warm cup of tea. I was just on my way to a lovely little tea shop. You should visit sometime. It has a lovely garden area."

"I definitely will have to take a look. Where is it at?"

"Just downtown, one of my good friends opened it up just last month."

"Really? That's awesome! I'll have to check it out sometime."

"Care to join me?" Asgore asked calmly, with a smile.

You couldn't help but smile back at him, his demeanor was so sweet and awkward that it was hard not to be amused. "Sure. It sounds nice. I haven't had tea in a while."

The two of you went down to the tea shop, and just like he said it was a lovely little establishment. Just out in the font was a garden with seating, each flower was still blooming, colorful, and inviting. It was beautiful.

The inside was just as adorable, decorations of all kinds lined the walls, perfectly pulling together the pale purple and blue color scheme. Behind the counter was a spider monster, she looked dressed in a maid-esc outfit and smiled brightly at you both as you walk in, "Hello! Welcome to Muffet's Tea Shop! Is it the usual for you this morning, Asgore?"

"Yes, please, Muffet," Asgore smiled, pulling a comically small for his size wallet out of his pocket. He carefully started to dig through it and Muffet turns her attention to you.

She quietly waits for you to order. You hesitate a little, thinking, "Um." After a little while, you placed your order. Muffet scribbles it down, sets both papers on the counter, and rings it up. Asgore pays and whispers something to Muffet. When it was your turn she just handed you a receipt and turned away to start your orders.

You turn to Asgore, confused. Did he just pay for your drink? That's sweet. You started to wonder what his life was like in the underground. Was he this nice to everyone? Did he like tea and flowers before coming to the surface? What does he think about the surface? You decided to ask about his life, then and now, curious about this stranger.

At first, he seemed unsure of the questions, but after a few moments, he slowly began to answer you, "Well, life in the underground was, interesting, for lack of a better term. There wasn't much down there at first, but we made it work after a while. We used what we found, all over the caves and in the dump, in order to make our homes and help us get our lives started. It was hard, trying to adjust and to keep everyone's spirits up, but as their king, it was my burden to bear."

"Their king? You're the king of monsters?" You questioned, thinking about how this big fluffy guy could be the scary and deadly monster king he was portrayed as in history.

He looks off a little, "Yes. Ever since coming to the surface, I have disregarded that title. I was not very worthy of it anyway. I did some horrible things to try and fix things that were beyond my control. Now I must deal with the consequences of my actions. Even if those consequences mean that I am seen as nothing more than a criminal and a danger to others."

You rest your hands on his shoulder in an attempt to show your sympathy for him. "You did what you thought was right. It may not have been a good choice in the long run, but you did everything with good intentions. Everyone has made questionable choices, and if no one can accept that then that's their loss."

His small smile was enough to show you he appreciated your kindness to him. Muffet giggles and sets your orders on the counter. Happily taking your food/drink, you sat outside near the flowers and enjoy the warm morning. As you both sat there, you took turns asking each other questions. Most of them were short and simple, favorite color, a favorite song, and hobbies. Some questions went a little deeper, such as about the past, thoughts on how the world has changed, and how life is for each of you.

As the afternoon crept in, you got to know the gentle king on a level you never would've expected. It was nice. You learned the answers to all the questions that flooded your mind not long ago, and surely his wave of questions were also answered. "We should do this again. It's lovely talking to you." You told him, noticing the time.

"Indeed. Could we exchange numbers? That way we can plan another morning like this one?" He asked, handing you his phone so you could put in your number.

You did so, smiling as you sent yourself a text so you could add his contact later. After handing his phone back to him, he gave you a gentle look, one you had not seen before. It was warm and calm, something sweet hidden within. It struck your curiosity, taking you off guard.

"I look forward to seeing you again, (Y/N). You've shown me more kindness today than I have seen from humans in a long time. Thank you." He admitted, bowing his head to you and turning away.

As he walked off you felt the warmth in your soul fade, you had hardly noticed the gentle warmth it held until it left. You looked at your phone, opened the text you sent yourself, and saved his contact in your phone. Although he barely left, you wanted to text him and say hello. It felt childish, being so attached after only meeting today, but then again, it felt so right.
