Chapter 27

Ryujin, why haven't you kissed me? Is there something wrong with me? Wrong with my face? Does my breath smell bad, or are my lips chapped? Why won't you just kiss me already...

"What are you thinking about?"

Quickly I look up to see Ryujin walking out of the bathroom, pulling a shirt over her naked torso. Her wet hair dripping down her forehead.

"Nothing really," I mumble and fall back onto my pillow. Biting my lip I sweep out all my kissing thoughts and replace them with tiredness. "Has anyone found out who attacked Soobin yet?"

Suddenly the bed dipped down and I turned my gaze to the side to see Ryujin sitting on the edge. "No tracks of anyone specific, it was probably just some random rogues."

Again I sit up, my legs covered by the red silky sheets. "Where are you going so early?"

"I have some business to deal with, but I'll be back by noon." She mutters and heads for the doors. "When I get back we can go for a run."

Instantly Lucy sprung up by the sound of going on a run. It's been a while since I let her play through the trees and fall in the mud.

"Okay." I slip from the sheets and quickly catch Ryujin before she leaves. Without thinking, I press my lips to her stubbled cheek and swiftly pull away. At first, she seemed quite surprised than amused before leaving me alone in our bedroom.

I let out a long sigh and crawl back into the bed. Sometimes I wish she had no control and couldn't help but kiss me every hour of every day.

But I guess it just doesn't work that way. I'll just have to wait until she wants to kiss me, she'll want to kiss me right?

Bored I peer out the window to see Yeonjun and Ryujin running towards the forest with a couple guards behind them. As fast as I can I get up and jog to the window to watch them enter the trees.

I wonder what she's doing so early in the forest?

"Why don't we go and find out?" Lucy wiggles her eyebrows.

"No! We'll get in trouble."

"No, we won't Yeji, calm down. Let's just go out there and if we get caught pretend that you're sick and need to go to the doctor." Lucy whines.

"Did you really just think that out?"

"Ugh, aren't you curious? I mean, what is our mate doing out there? What if she needs our help?" As soon as she mentioned Ryujin needing my help I tipped over the edged.

"Okay but we're staying far behind." I said

Quickly I grab one of the robes from the hanger in the bathroom and head out of the pack house. The cold air hit me straight in the face making me want to run back into bed.

"Shift and we'll be warm" Lucy suggests and I immediately agree. I walk around to the side of the pack house and scan the area for anyone visible.

After seeing no one I take off the robe and my clothes and set them on a bush beside me. I give Lucy the all clear to shift and in a couple seconds my bones crack into place and my smooth skin has turned into millions of short dark brown hairs.

Okay now follow her scent, but be sneaky. I'll try my best

Right away we set off for the tree line and started weaving through talk trunks and jumping over rocks and bushes.

Lucy followed Ryujin's scent deeper and deeper into the woods. I started to get worried. Suddenly she slowed down and hid behind a near boulder.

She's over there. She mutters, directing me in the direction where my mate is standing alone in a small clearing.

What is she doing? Out of nowhere another man that I don't recognize appears through the trees and walks towards Ryujin.

Quietly I watch their encounter. I wonder where Yeonjun and the guards are, shouldn't they be with her? The other man looks intimidating, but not as much as Ryujin does. I can tell Ryujin is in full on Alpha mode.

"Shift."

Immediately I spin around to see a guard behind me. He's not from Ryujin's pack, I've never seen him before.

"I said shift, or I won't hesitate to rip out your throat!" Shaking out of fear I shift back into my human form and cover my breasts and womanhood with my hands. Wanting to cry I look up at the guard as he comes closer to me.

The guard roughly grabs my arm and drags me in the direction of Ryujin.

Instantly I start to panic as we get closer to them.

Every couple seconds the guard would look down at me for long periods of time. His eyes roaming over my naked body like I'm some object. I tried my best to cover myself as he pulls me along, but my hand kept slipping the more he pulled.

Tears already started falling, I just didn't realize it until now. Soon enough we came up to the clearing where Ryujin and the unknown man were in a deep discussion.

"Sir, I found some girl hiding in the trees watching you sir!" The guard yells to the unknown man.

As soon as the guard let go of me I secured my arm to cover my chest and my hand my womanhood.

There I stood naked in front my mate who looks like she's about to have a heart attack and a bunch of men.

I couldn't tell what Ryujin was thinking as she ran towards me. She looked extremely angry, but I couldn't tell who it was for. It must be for the guard that was touching and eyeing my naked body, or me.

Without saying anything Ryujin took off her shirt and covered my shaking body the best she could.

Next, she punched the guard straight in the jaw, making a sickening crunch noise.

"We'll finish another time!" Ryujin yells to man and the guy nods his head understanding the situation.

"Yeonjun, take care of this!" Ryujin ordered while pointing down to the guard holding his broken jaw.

Out of the trees, Yeonjun came running towards us. Then finally Ryujin turned to me. "Let's go." Her tone was so frightening that I almost ran the other direction.

I watched the forest floor as I followed Ryujin back to the pack house. Neither of us spoke, and I don't think either of us wanted to. I made a bad decision and now I'm going to pay for it.

Hesitantly she leads me all the way back to our bedroom and turned to face me. Slowly I shut the door and prepared myself for what was about to go down.

"Why?" She sighs. "Why did you follow us out into the forest?"

Before answering I took a deep breath and swallowed my pride. "Well, I was curious."

"You were curious?" Ryujin questions me with disbelief in her tone.

"Yes." She doesn't say anything more. We stand in silence for the next couple minutes, just staring at each other.

All I want her to do is pull me in her arms and smash her lips on mine. Something inside me was burning for her touch and wasn't going to rest until I got it.

"Why haven't you kissed me?" I innocently ask her, taking Ryujin by surprise. "What's wrong with me?"

"Stop, Yeji."

"No! Why haven't you touched me?" I move closer to her. "Touch me."

"Stop!" She shouts, causing me to jump back and watch her every move. "Go put some clothes on."

Slowly I turn to the dresser at slide open the top drawer. After grabbing a matching pair of panties and a bra I slip the panties on under Ryujin's shirt covering my body.

Next, still facing away from Ryujin I pull her shirt off and drop it to the floor. I can feel her eyes burning holes in my bare back as I hook up my lace white bra.
