Quick Reminder: This chapter has a lot of POV changing.
----
That morning I woke up breathing heavy with a thin layer of sweat covering my body. Right when my eyes shot open relief flooded through me, I hate nightmares.
Immediately I got out of bed and headed straight for the shower, hating the uncomfortable warmth my body was grasping onto.
Quickly I stripped off my nightgown and turned the shower handle a little above the 'off' setting.
Cold, but not freezing water suddenly poured onto me instantly refreshing me.
Usually, when I have nightmares I think of them as messages, but this one was just confusing.
When I began stepping into the lake, with the icy water coating my feet, that's when I woke up.
I remember searching the woods, looking for somewhere to hide as if my death was chasing me.
Even in the dream, my heart was beating rapidly, and when I woke up it didn't change.
Turning off the water I stepped out of the shower and onto the fluffy floor mat.
After I asked Ryujin about her meeting in the woods she told me it was nothing and not to worry. But I'm not that stupid, I know she's hiding something from me.
Sighing I wrapped the robe around my chilled body firmly before marching back into the empty bedroom.
Ryujin got up early for some guard training thing. She was telling me about it before she left and I fell back asleep, but I couldn't pay attention. Her lies were fogging my mind.
I was going to hang out with Mina today, but something came up and Yeonjun and Mina had to visit her parents. I guess one of them is really ill.
Now for the entire day, I have the house all to myself, and I'm not sure what to do. Maybe I'll take bruiser on a walk on one of the wood trails, I think he'll enjoy that.
Getting dressed didn't take too long. Swiftly I pulled in a pair of dark gray leggings and a striped long sleeve shirt with a lace trim at the bottom.
I glanced in the mirror instantly approving my outfit choice for the day. It made me feel girly and extra feminine. Right now acting a little more womanly might help distract me from my endless dramatic thoughts.
After making my way downstairs and into the empty kitchen I snatched a cereal box from the pantry and milk from the fridge.
Just as I unscrewed the milk cartons lid the doorbell rang throughout the house. Sighing I placed the lid on the counter and hurried to the door.
Opening the door I carelessly ignored the peephole and peered up at the stranger.
A young man was standing in front of me with his hands buried deep into his leather jackets pocket. He had stubble covering his chin and chestnut brown hair covering his head. Overall he seemed troubled.
"Can I help you?" I slowly asked, making sure if he tried to attack me that I would be ready.
After my words he looked right up at me, unleashing his dark green hypnotic eyes. "Are you Hwang Yeji?" The man's voice was low and husky.
"W-Why?"
In a quick flash, he had moved closer, impaling my side with a sharp knife. Pain shot through my nerves causing me to scream, but he was quick to cover my mouth.
Tears brimmed my eyes as he pulled the knife from my flesh and roughly gripped my arm. In a rush he dragged me towards a black truck, swinging the door open, chucking me in the backseat.
Then slamming it shut. My vision became blurry as more and more blood seeped from my wound.
The man started the engine and took off south, heading for the pack border.
< Ryujin's POV >
"Okay, this shouldn't take too long we're just going over the new patrol plans. I'm putting more guards on night watch and assigning a few of you to run the perimeter once a day-"
Suddenly interrupting my meeting, two guards came bursting through the doors. Rolling my eyes I dropped the papers in my hand back to my desk and looked up at them with a hard glare.
"What is it?"
"Alpha we found two dead bodies on the north border. They don't belong to our pack, but there was a message carved into their chests." One of them breathed heavy.
"What was the message?"
Hesitantly they glanced at each other then back forward. "We think it's best if you see for yourself."
Raising an eyebrow I moved from behind my desk. "I'll be back." I quickly informed the guards at my meeting before following the two other guards north.
As soon as I stepped outside an uneasy feeling settled in my stomach. Something really is wrong.
Stopping I ordered one of the two guards to go and check on Yeji while I continued with the other to the border.
At the scene, there was another guard waiting for us to arrive. Like they had
described there were to dead bodies laying beside each other in the dirt. Their skin was pale and lips a blue-purple shade.
Dried blood stained their skin and carved into their flesh read; Thank you for returning what is mine.
"What the hell is this?"
"I was on patrol and came upon them just like this. I didn't even waste a second before bringing it to your attention." The guard that was already with the bodies explained.
"They must have been dead for awhile and left out here until one of us found them. But I'm not sure what the carved message is referring to Alpha."
Taking a deep breath I studied the bodies for a little while longer before sending someone to clean everything up.
Whoever did this is messing with the wrong pack. Returning what is theirs, what the hell is that supposed to-
My eyes grew wide and immediately I started in a lightning sprint towards the pack house. Swinging the front door open I ran inside, scanning all the rooms.
"Yeji!"
"Yeji!"
The house was empty.
Quickly I headed to my office dialing a number into the phone and impatiently holding it to my ear.
"Hello?"
"Suga what were you telling me the other day when I met up with you?" I question while tapping my foot continually against the wood floor.
"Ryujin?"
"Suga, what did you tell me about Yeji's old pack?!"
"Uh... I told you that her parents are nowhere to be found... and that their Alpha is completely crazy and shouldn't be in ruling. Back when I was in that pack and her father was the same way."
< Unknown >
Finally, I can complete my father's wish for that stupid weak girl to be killed.
Through my childhood he was obsessed about Yeji's ability, some days he would lock himself in his office, studying and researching.
After he found out about Taeyeon's gift he was quick to end her, tear her out of existence.
That's exactly what I'm going to do. Lucky for Seulgi the gift skips a generation, too bad her daughter is about to be executed.
