The second her name left the woman's lips I froze. It couldn't be. She's Yeji's mother, who I've been looking for, yet she stands right in front of me. "You're her mother?"

"Yes, I am." She breathed heavy.

"What you did to her-"

"I know, I knew she would tell you eventually but please know I did it to protect her."

I glanced back to my guards to see them relieved, thinking we're finally going to find her. But I couldn't except as easily as they did.

"How do you know where she is?" I asked firmly.

"The Alpha of our old pack found my husband and I and took us hostage, forcing us to tell him where she is. He said if we didn't they were going to kill us and her. So I told him she was with her grandmother, her grandmother must have told him that she was with you. I managed to escape and I was heading towards your pack grounds to tell you everything." Tears began to spring from her eyes. "H-He's going to kill her, she's at the packs land that he took over."

"Can you lead us to her?"

The man leads me down the hallway until we came up to double doors and he tugged me inside.

There was a grand desk with bookshelves lining the walls, and he sat me on a chair off to the side.

A large guard was quick to step in front of the doors but moved when a light knock came from the other side.

In came a lean man with dark brown hair, then I realized this man was my father.

"Dad?" I muttered out of surprise and ran to him. He held me tight in his arms as shock streamed through my body. "W-Where have you been? Why are you-"

"That's enough." The man boomed from his desk and the guard pulled us apart. His eyes were filled with worry.

"Why is she here?" I turned to the man and he stood up, crossing his arms. "Where's my mother?"

"I thought she would add some drama to the situation, like a tv soap opera. And your mother, well, she could be dead, I have many guards tracking her down after her little slip-up."

"Where is she!" My father yelled and fought against the guard to let him go. "Please don't hurt my wife!"

"She's running through the woods, running for her life." He smiled devilishly.

"What are you planning?"

He glanced at me before slowly making his way over. "Something grand, unforgettable, and if you cooperate then maybe you'll survive through it."

"If I'm the one you wanted then why must you hurt everyone else that I love? Why can't you be happy with just me?"

He stroked my cheek with the back of his rough hand. "They're just for fun."

"You're sick!" I spit in his face, abandoning my plan to obey him. "You hurt them and I'll kill you!"

"You, kill me?" He chuckled. "Honey, you're quite amusing while we wait for our lasts guests to arrive."

Suddenly another man came bursting through the doors, drenched in sweat. "Alpha we searched through her pack and she's not there, we covered the forest around her pack and it's clear. We can't find her or the mother."

"What!"

"W-what if she found her for help when she escaped." He breathed heavy, gasping for air. "What if they're working together."
