Chapter 18- hugs

-Tubbo POV-

I arrived at Tommy's house, I hadn't even knocked and the door opened to a smiling Tommy.

"Hey there ma friendd!" he said grinning at me, I walked through the door as he held it open for me, "How ya been bud? I feel like we haven't talked about, y'know life, in ages."

I cringed a bit, why do you think it went that way, 'bud'? Maybe because you like your 'new friends' better then me? Maybe because you don't talk to be anymore? Huh?

Though I really wanted to say those things and put him in his place, I didn't have the confidence to do so. Plus if I lose him, I'll lose the bit of popularity I have left and people won't stay away from me anymore.

So I smiled at him, a kind smile, I tried to look as genuine as possible.

"Yeah it has really been a dang long time."

"Yeah it really is! So, what movie do you wanna watch?" Tommy looked back at me again, my headache wasn't fully gone yet so honestly, my bed sounds perfectly fine. "I don't know, spiderman or something? You can choose, I'll probably fall asleep halfway anyways." I told him with tired eyes.

Tommy seemed kinda dissapointed with my answer, we walked to the sofa and he selected spiderman.

I think I fell asleep during the movie because I don't really remember how it ended. I woke up in the sofa and grabbed my phone, 9.42 AM, that's a reasonal time to wake up in the weekend. I also felt my headache was gone now so that a good thing.

I sat up and heard Tommy was busy doing something in the kitchen, so I went to go check on him. He was making scrambled eggs, like we always used to make at our sleepovers. The eggs already looked a bit burnt, I giggled a bit.

"Look who we have here, 'sleeping beauty' finally decided to wake up too!" Tommy said jokingly.

Tommy finished cooking and put the eggs on two plates, one for him and one for me. He put them down at the dinnertable.

"Sooo, Tubs, slept well?" Tommy was just poking his eggs around a bit. I shrugged, "I guess my headache is gone now." "Good good," He answered mindlessly.

Tommy seemed lost in thought, which rarely happened, I looked at him, a bit concearned. "Tommy, you good? You seem out of it more then usual." He looked up at me with a look, like he's solving the meaning of life.

"Toby, can I talk to you about something?" The blonde asked. "Sure," I shrugged, "shoot."

"I feel like we're growing apart, I hang out with the boys more and more often, you also sometimes dissappear. I feel like I don't know my own best friend anymore. I try to act cool with dream and the others but-," he sighed and lowered his head into his hands, "I just want us to be like old times again. Tell each other everything, laugh together, cry together." I heard his voice break a little, he was trying to stay strong but he was failing.

So I hugged him tightly, we haven't really hugged in a while now, but this felt right. "I miss the old times too, Tommy. But we're growing up, and we can't always have everything we want." I let go of him and tried to look at him tp give him a reassuring smile, but he averted his eyes.

We continued to eat our eggs in silence and then I grabbed my stuff to head home again to go packing for the next day.

-Ranboo POV-

My mother drove me to school to drop me off for the schooltrip. I was kind of stressing out, not only am I going to have to spend a whole week with my classmates who hate me, I am going to have to share a room with Tubbo.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it's him, I'm scared I will accidently embarras myself, or that he will realise I'm not as fun as he thinks I am and never want to hang out or even see me again.

My mom noticed I was tapping my leg anxiously and when we arrived she took my hand and looked at me, I looked back at her, "Hey, you don't have to worry too much about it. Try to have some fun while you're gone, and call me whenever you like if you want to talk." She gave me a sweet smile. "Thanks mom,"

We both stepped out of the vehicle and went to grab my bag. Before I could go towards the schoolgate, I pulled my mom into a hug, "I am going to miss you," I muttered into her shoulder, she hugged me back, "I'm gonna miss you too sweetheart, but have fun with your classmates, okay?" I pulled back to look at her and smiled, "I'll try."
