Part 19 | Almost

"You should start a hair braiding business."

He looked at you in amusement. "Today's headline: Loki actor gone rouge; started a business braiding peoples hair."

You burst out laughing, Tom saving you from falling off the couch with his arm wrapped around your waist.

"Gosh I want to see that now" you said breathlessly, smiling up at him.

"Well unfortunately for you, that's not going happen" he answered, standing up with you in his arms.

"Hey!" You shrieked, twisting around in his arms. "Hiddleston! Put me down!"

He smirked and walked out the front door of the apartment, hurrying down the hall.

"Where are you- DON'T YOU DARE!"

Tom sighed as he opened the door to the pool room on your floor, moving to stand at the edge.

"THOMAS WILLIAM HIDDLESTON DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT-"

Your shrieks were cut off by the actor dropping you into the deep water.

You quickly sunk to the bottom, and just as you pushed back up to the surface, an idea formed in your mind.

"I can't swim Tom!" You shrieked, thrashing around. "I can't swim!"

Fear crossed over his handsome features, worry building in his eyes. A moment later you found yourself at the edge of the pool, held tightly against his side as he rambled hurriedly.

"I'm so my darling I'm so sorry, I didn't know are you alright-"

He stopped abruptly as you started laughing.

"Tom, we swam together when we filmed the cliff scene!" You laughed, holding onto him as he kept two of you afloat.

He sighed in relief, shaking his head. "Apologies darling, I thought my favourite actress was dying on me."

"Favourite?" You asked with a grin. "There's a lot to choose from."

"And you're the best option" he answered, smirking. "Now don't do that again or I'll drown you myself."

"Yes sir" you saluted, Tom rolling his eyes and smiling slightly.

"I'm backkkkk!" El announced, closing the door with her foot.

"Where are they?" She muttered, placing the groceries down in the kitchen and wandering around the apartment.

"Ready, set, go!"

The two of you swam as fast as you could, racing each other down the pool, Tom beating you easily.

"Not fair! You have long legs!" You grumbled, pushing your wet hair out your face.

"Well I am 6"2 love" he grinned, running a hand through his hair.

"I can't hear you!" You sang out, floating on your back so your ears were underwater. (Ohhhhhh, who's lives in a pineapple under the sea? SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS! Absorbent and yellow and- okay I'll shut up now)

Suddenly a strong pair of hands grabbed you, dunking you under the water before pulling you back up.

You were face to face with Tom, water pouring down his face as he grinned at you.

"I believe" he murmured, "That you can hear me darling."

You were both breathing heavily as the two of you treaded water, staring at each other.

Toms eyes flickered down to your lips before meeting yours again. You realised how close he was as your heart pounded frantically in your chest.

"May I?" He whispered, leaning closer.

You gave a tiny nod, and he leant down, his lips about to meet yours when-

"Where have you two been?? I got home to-"

You and Tom quickly broke apart, El too caught up in her ramble to notice your blushes.

"Hello El, sorry we scared you, I decided to throw her in the pool" he replied, smiling nervously at the girl.

"Children" she sighed, putting two towels on the poolside.

The two of you swam to the edge and got out, wringing the water out of your clothes before wrapping the fluffy towels around you.

As you followed El down the hall, you glanced up at Tom to see him watching you with an unreadable expression.

Heat rising to your cheeks, you hurried inside after your best friend.

I'm so sorry everyone, I know this chapter is about six hours late, I finished re watching WandaVision and re watched The Matrix with my sister
