17: Breakdown

I sit there with a sword to my neck, listening to Charlie and the assaliant's conversation

Stab man: "Ok, we don't need to kill each other."

Charlie: "What makes you so sure about that?!"

Stab Man: "We have a similar goal."

Charlie: "And that is?"

Stab Man: "Kill the men in White Masks."

"How would you know if thats our goal?"

Stab Man: "I hack stuff. Y'know, goverment files, terrorist cells. The black markets fun to watch their interactions."

Charlie: "Touche."

Stab Man: "Now listen, promise you won't shoot me the second I let you go."

Charlie: "I can't promise you that."

Stab Man: "There's a dude who set bombs up around here, we need to leave."

"He's not lying, some plauge doctor setup bombs."

Charlie: "Where?" The assailant points to a corner. Charlie fiddles with the helmet, and I think he turns on the electronics detector he made.

Charlie: "Don't hit me, i've gotta get way closer for it to work." I hear a beep and Charlie's headcam can be seen on my overlay. There's are C4-shaped items on his headcam.

Charlie: "Holy fuck."

Stab Man: "I count 4 in this one room."

Charlie: "Make it 6."

Stab Man: "See?"

Charlie: "You're right."

"Alright, will you let me go now?"

Stab Man: "Can I... Work with you guys?"

"If you don't kill me i'll think about referring you."

Stab Man: "Ok th-" he gets cut off by a gunshot to the arm.

My head jerks to the position to where it came from, the door. I can see the Plauge doctor with his gun he took. He shoots Charlie in the leg as well, and I grab the sword the assaliant had and run towards the Plauge Doctor. He shoots me in the leg, but I persist and cut his hand clean off. He falls to the ground holding his large wound, and I go back to them.

"MEDIC!!!" We're all laying on the ground now, and Charlie's unconscious. I use my last morphine pack in my jacket and jab the swordsman with it as he could be useful for his info. A grenade gets thrown in the room and begins filling the room with gas. I roll over onto my back and see as the Doc, Ash, Glitch, Mozzie, Buck, Blitz, and Toxin all run into the room with gas masks. The swordsman guy has his hands up, as he would most likely die easily.

Ash: "They both have pulses."

Toxin: "Holy crap, John's been beaten to shit."

Doc: "Move!" He slides over to Charlie and patches him up.

"There ar-" I cough up a lot of blood. "Are bombs. Dok-" I cough up way more blood "Defuse them first."

I blackout after I say that.

John PoV:

I wake up on a medical bed and look around. I see Charlies corpse on a medical bed next to me.

"NO!" I begin having a mental breakdown and get up and trash the room. Doc runs in and has to restrain me. Toxin then runs in and jabs me with a syringe. My vision blacks out. When everything comes back into view, I can see people standing next to me, but Charlie is nowhere to be seen.

"No..."

Alex: "It's okay." I get up thorough my pain and search for Charlie. I see that there was no medical bed next to me.

"What the fuck?" I walk out to the room and look in the second room next to me with Charlie in it, standing up.

"Charlie."

Charlie: "John." I walk towards him and we hug.

"I thought you were dead."

Charlie: "Same here." He puts his face in his hand

"What's wrong?"

Charlie: "There was a corpse."

"Who?"

Charlie: "It was..." He begins crying. "Allen's dead."

"No." I stumble backwards and fall down.

"NO."

Charlie: "I'm sorry."

"HE'S NOT DEAD!" I run out of the room and see that everyones standing outside, one of the operators, Castle, comes towards me and tries to talk to me

Miles (Castle): "I'm sorry for your loss." He tries to put his hand on my shoulder and console me but It up his hand off and push it towards him.

"Not like any of you fuckers care!" I speedwalk to my bedroom and grab my phone out. I call Allen's phone, thinking there's been a mistake. He dosen't pick up. I call again, and again, and again. I give up and lay my face in my pillow and cry myself to sleep.
