25: Team Ash VS. Team Vigil

DAY 2 OF INVITATIONAL.

I was sitting on the bench next to the entrance when I heard the intercom boot to life.

Intercom: "Team Ash's defense and Vigil's attack, you may now enter the stadium."

I got up and all the others did as well. I was nervous.

Castle: "Don't worry, we've got this." He said to me.

"Yeah."

I gave everyone their HUD glasses, which Mira and me had created the day before the invitational had officially started. They all put the glasses on and I remotely activated them.

Castle: "These are cool, man."

"Thanks. And also, hold up your gun." Frost and Mute held their gun up. I had a camera seeing everyone's overlay. A small T-shaped thing appeared in the middle of their screen.

Frost: "So it's a HUD? Like in videogames?"

"Yep. Now let's get going, alright?" I said as I walked to the entrance. The others followed. We walked out into the gigantic stadium, revealing a massive crowd of people. I would be lying if I said I didn't feel nervous.

Frost: "Holy shit."

"You got that right." We walked into the stadium and went into our chosen bombsite. 

Intercom: "Starting Preparation Phase" A timer appeared on my overlay, counting down from two minutes. Frost set up her traps on the windows, and I reinforced the walls along with mute. Castle barricaded the doors, and I left the room.

"Comms check." I said through my comms

Castle: "Check"

Frost: "Check"

Mute: "Check"

Bandit: "Check" I got into a good space and sat there for a good thirty seconds until frost's comms blared.

Frost: "I've got 3 tangos on me!"

"What's your position?" I asked

Frost: "The penthouse!"

"Stay alive, alright? I'll be right there." I ran room to room, sliding into the room adjacent to the penthouse. I went invisible and I walked towards the door. I saw Buck walking towards her. Frost shot at him but hit Fuze and Zofia.

Frost: "I'm low on ammo! Get here fast!" Buck ran past the barrier protecting her and brought his gun to her head. She aimed at Buck's head. I pulled out my M1911 and cocked it and put it behind Buck's head. I turned off my invisibility.

Buck: "Sorry Tina."

"Sorry Seb." He perked his head up at the sound of my voice and I shot the pistol. The glasses showed me an icon, reading 5 VS 2.

Bandit: "They're in the site! They are in th-" His voice cut off, and the icon appeared again, reading 4 VS 2.

Frost: "Shit." I gave her my hand and helped her up.

"C'mon, try not to get yourself killed this time, alright?" She rolled her eyes at my joke.

Frost: "I should say the same for you." We walked over to the site while operators died. The icon read 2 VS 1 when we reached the site. I walked into B as she walked into A. I heard gunfire, and then the icon went to 1 VS 1. 

"Blast some Closing Time- Semisonic, please." The song then began, and I pushed into A. Bullets whooshed past my head, and I dove to the ground. I hit the ground hard and activated my invisibility. I laid still on the ground, clenching my teeth. I heard running, and then the sound of typing. Text appeared on my screen, reading DEFUSER HAS BEEN PLANTED. I got up and silently dashed to cover. My HUD's health indicator read 20/100, and I turned off my invisibility. I took a deep breath and hopped over the cover. I slid to another piece of cover while I was being shot at. I got up and sprayed at the door. I saw IQ and shot at her, and the icon read 1 VS 0. I silently celebrated while I walked to the defuser and defused it.

Intercom: "Defenders win." I got up from my crouching position and I went to Frost. I helped her up.

"Not bad, eh?"

Frost: "Yeah, you did good." She said as we walked towards the exit. I smiled.

"Hey, you did good. You were the 4th person to die, so." She smiled.

Frost: "Yeah, but I didn't defuse the bomb."

"So? You did good, alright?"

Frost: "Alright, sure." We walked out of the stadium and went back to our waiting place.
