27: Hangover

"Oh shit." I uttered as I finally realized the shit I was in. "Fuckin' 'ell. Alright, what are we going to be doing here... We going to wake her up, or?" I shut up after hearing the rustling of covers. She was rolling off the bed and about to fall onto the floor. I was racing to keep her from falling, but she fell down before I could reach. A loud bang sound emitted around the room. "Shi-..." She began to mutter, and I could make out multiple cuss words. She got up and looked over at me.

Tina: "Oh hey John." She got up and walked towards me, passing by me, and then walked towards the bathroom. She then stopped suddenly and looked over towards me. "John?" She questioned, finally realizing I was in there.

"Hey, Tina-" I greeted before I was cutoff.

Tina: "The hell are you doing in my dorm?" I was surprised by the fact she wasn't absolutely beating the shit out of me.

"I haven't a clue. I blacked and woke up here." I muttered a few words.

Tina: "You what?" She interrogated with a firmer voice than before.

"I blacked out and woke up here." I repeated.

Tina: "Alright... Um, stay here, I'll be in the bathroom, go check out the fridge or something." She held her head in her hand and walked past me to the bathroom. I looked around and went to a closed door. I opened it and felt light emit from the balcony window to my face. I shielded the light from my face and walked towards the pantry. I opened the door, revealing Doritos, maple syrup, and some more foods. I grabbed the Doritos and sat down on the couch, waiting for Tina. I opened the bag and ate some chips. A few seconds later, Tina came in, wearing casual clothes. She sat across the couch from me.

Tina: "So, what I'm getting is we got wasted and slept together. What do you think?"

"Same here." I replied.

Tina: "That brings me to the big question. John, do you find me attractive?" I tried to hide my little smile, something I always had to do whenever confrontations happened. I looked back and forth, as if looking for a way out of the question.

"Why would you think that?" I questioned defensively.

Tina: "You slept with me, I slept with you, I think it's a bit obvious." She replied calmly.

"Alright, you got me, I think you are hot." I replied, putting my hands in the air. Tina smirked at my response to her question.

Tina: "And I find you attractive as well." I chuckled.

"You know how you always feel like you'll get shut down by the person you like?" I asked.

Tina: "Oh, always." She replied.

"Hey, what time is it?" I questioned. She pulled out her phone and looked at the screen.

Tina: "4:15" She answered.

"When does the game start again?"

Tina: "12:00." She replied.

"Alright, what do you want to do?" I asked her.

Tina: "I'm hungry, lets head to the mess hall."

"Alright, let me put the Doritos back." I put the Doritos back where they belonged, and I walked out the door with Tina. We walked over to the mess hall and grabbed our food, mine eggs and bacon, she got some waffles. We walked to our teams table and began talking strategy. I couldn't help but continue glancing at Tina.

El Timeskipo

We walked into the stadium, and I could hear the roaring of the crowd. I glanced at the crowd before stopping in my tracks. I stared at a kid, who looked almost identical to Allen. I barely kept myself from not having a mental breakdown. I looked down at the floor and put on my helmet, which I was holding in my right hand. I turned the helmet on and played "A world to win - Stick to Your Guns." We walked into the arsenal and grabbed bullets. I grabbed three magazines and put them in my pouch. The round started and I held kitchen and two people pushed in. I loaded one magazine into one of the hostiles, and they were eliminated. I reloaded and fired, and the person I hit screamed in pain. A screeching noise came through the helmet, causing me to drop my gun and hold my head from the volume of the noise. I took off my helmet to see Blitz lying on the floor, bleeding. 

"Shit, shit, shit! We need medical!" I walked over towards the operator and searched for the wound. I stopped the bleeding and thought to myself 'My god, John, what the fuck have you done!' I let the medical take Blitz and I had forfeited the round for my team. "Shit..."

Bandit: "What the fuck was that, John?!" He walked towards me and hit me. I barely even flinched and stared at a camera. I was weeping at this point, and I just began walking away. I dropped by weapons on the floor and unloaded them. I walked out of the building, and I ran towards the entrance. I stumbled in and took off my helmet. I barely kept myself together as I ran into the men's bathroom and splashed water all over my face. I stared into the mirror for what seemed like forever, until I heard yelling from outside. I opened the door with my invisibility on and I saw Ash being held back, with Kali also being held back by her operators. I was directly in the middle of all of this, and I looked back and forth between them. I walked past them and went to the door where I knew Six and Sam would be. I knocked on the door and held my breath.

Harry: "Come in." I almost slammed the door open.

"Six I didn't mean to use live ammu-"I spoke as soon as I walked in.

Harry: "Call me Harry, remember?" I was questioning how he was so calm; I had just shot one of his operators with live ammo.

"Sorry. Harry, it was completely accidental. I'm hoping you'll keep me."

Harry: "What happened there?"

"I saw a kid who looked like mine... The one who. You can guess the rest."

Harry: "Alright... You're not getting discharged, but... I need you to take your stuff and leave." He informed me.

"I understand." I walked out of the room, and I went back to my dorm. I grabbed my stuff and began packing I walked out of my dorm and walked towards the main door. I left to the garage and as I walked towards my car. 

???: "Hey, John!" I heard a female voice yell out. I turned around and saw Kali, Ace, Osa, practically the entirety of Nighthaven.

"Yeah what?" I remarked.

Kali: "I have an offer for you." I piqued at my interest.

"What do you want?" I questioned.

Kali: "We want you in Nighthaven, John."

"What's in it for me?" I asked.

Kali: "Better technology, a better R&D team, everything an engineer like you would need." 

"I reckon I have to work with you on operations?" I questioned. She nodded. I bit my lip, thinking. "Deal." I finally spoke. She put out her hand and I shook it.

Kali: "I'll expect to see you tomorrow at the labs."
