Chapter Twelve: Messing up

        A week after the proposal, I'm still trying to figure out what happened. he proposed to me. Mikey fucking Way fucking proposed to me. I'm sitting in his room, alone. I stare at the ring. It is amazing. I pick up my phone, time to tell my friends.

        "Hey, Lizzy?" I say, as my best friend picks up the phone. "What's up?"

        "Nothing much, you?"

        "Everything."

        "You sound excited. What happened?"

        "Liz...I'm getting married." She doesn't respond. "Lizzy?"

        "Oh my god! Pierce! I new there was a guy with you on your birthday."

        "Yeah. I'm sorry I didn't tell you."

        "Who is it?"

        "Lizzy..."

        "What?"

        "I'm getting married to Mikey. Mikey Way." Again, the other end is dead silent. "Lizzy?"

        "Oh my GOD!!" She screams. "Pierce! That's...that's...great!" I smile.

        "I know. He's really amazing."

        "I bet."

        "You wanna meet them?"  I ask.

        "W-What?" She stammers.

        "Would you like to meet my fiance?" I ask.

        "Well, I kinda already--"

        "Not for long, though. You want to actually talk to them?"

        "Pierce...I don't know what...to say."

        "Say yes." I smile.

        "Y-Yes. I would."

        "Great. I'll talk to them. I love you Liz."

        "Love you too, Pierce." She pauses. "Are you going to tell Jared?"

        "Yeah...I'm kind of scared. I'm not sure what he's going to think."

        "He'll be happy for you...I think."

        "Thanks Lizzy. I call again soon."

        "Bye."

        "Bye." I end the call as soon as Mikey enters the room. He walks over to me and sits onto the bed, slipping his fingers through mine.

        "You okay, babe?"

        "Um....I don't know."

        "What's up?" He combs through my hair.

        "I have to spill....I have to tell Jared."

        "Why?" I sense his body stiffening.

        "Babe," I turn to him and cup my hand under his chin. "I love you, with everything I have. But he's my best friend. He deserves to know. I lean into him and press my lips against his.

        "Kay." I dial Jared's number.

        "Hey, Pierce."

        "Hi."

        "What's up."

        "Jared...I have to tell you something, and I want you to not get angry. Please, this is a big thing in my life. Promise you'll understand."
