It's Real

Chapter 3

"So are you hungry? Do you wanna go out to eat a late lunch?" She asked quickly glancing at me.

"Yeah I'm kind of hungry. Can we go to Ruby's Diner? I'm in the mood for a burger?" I asked my stomach growling. I rubbed my stomach quietly telling it that we're getting food soon.

My aunt looked at me with a weird look.

"What?" I asked sheepishly. She just shrugged and chuckled.

When we finally pulled into the driveway, I jumped out the car and walked quickly to to the entrance.

"Hi! Welcome to Ruby's Diner. How many?" She asked way to enthusiastic.

"Just two." My aunt said with a small smile.

"Okay follow me" she said grabbing two menus and walking into the restaurant. We followed behind quickly. She sat us at a booth and we both sat across from each other. "Here's your menus and enjoy. " She said and went to serve other customers.

We both made small talk about random things.

"Hi! I'll be your waiter today. I'm Sarah. What would you like to - Hey! I know you! I saw you in the elevator not to long ago." She nearly burst out of excitement that she sat down right next to me. "Ari that's your name right?" She asked with the biggest smile on her face.

"Yeah that's right. Umm not to be rude or anything, but are you going to take our order? I'm really hungry." I asked trying not to be rude. I looked to my aunt who was also smiling.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry!!!" She exclaimed loudly jumping up from where she was sitting. "Sorry again. What can I get for you?" She said with her pen and pad ready in hand.

We both ordered and she went to go get our drinks.

"That's elevator girl?" My aunt asked. "She seems nice enough. You should hang out with her maybe you can make some friends." She said matter of facts. I glare at her.

"I don't need friends! I'm perfectly fine by myself, so can you please just drop it." I nearly yelled. But I didn't yell because I know I would've gotten a hefty slap.

"No, you are not okay by yourself. You've came up with this idea that you don't need to let anyone in, but you're hurting yourself really. " My aunt was starting to piss me off.

"I will not have this conversation right now here." I said through clenched teeth. Then as if on cue our food came out and we ate in silence.
