chapter seven: the first division

"What is the meaning of this?" Mikey asks as he looks between you and Draken, who then explains that you aren't Ichiro, but a liar named Y/N. He tells Mikey that he's been skeptical of you since you arrived and knew something was off the whole time.

"I didn't know what it was until just now," he says as he describes what happened as he caught you leaving the party, "but this person is not who they say they are."

Not standing too far away, Takemichi and Chifuyu catch wind of Draken's words. They walk over, interested in listening in on what's going on with their newest recruit.

"What's going on?" Takemichi asks.

"This person isn't some kinda fighter she led you to believe," Draken explains. "She only said those things to get you to believe in her and allow her into your division?"

"Her?" Chifuyu squeaks after realizing you had almost caught him with his pants down before.

As Draken continues, you slowly pick up your head to look at Mikey only to see that he once again looks just as bored as he did before you showed up. He doesn't move and gives hardly any expression in return. Does he really not care?

"She does have some skills though," Takemichi insists. "I mean, she beat me at least."

"There's nothing wrong with having her in our division," Chifuyu agrees. "She lied because she thought we wouldn't accept her as a woman, she didn't do it for a bad reason!"

You close your eyes shut as your friends vouch for you. How the hell are you ever going to betray them now?

"Hey," Mikey calls, interrupting the others, "what's your real name?"

"Y/N," you reply with your eyes still cast down.

"Okay, Y/N, you may stay as long as you've got someone keeping an eye on you. We don't need anymore deception from you, got it?"

"Yes, of course. Thank you."

"I'll watch over her," Takemichi speaks up, only to be spoken over a moment later.

"I'll deal with her," Draken insists.

Alright, maybe Draken I can betray. Seriously, why the hell is he so skeptical of me?

"Stand up, Y/N," Mikey nods, accepting Draken's statement. "Go home and rest."

"I'll give you a ride home," Chifuyu calls to you as you stand.

"Thanks, that would be really helpful," you smile. "Goodnight guys."

The others are quiet as you and Chifuyu depart. You hop onto his bike and give him directions to your house along the way. When he drops you off, you dismount and smile politely.

"Thanks for vouching for me back there. I really didn't mean to cause any harm by lying to you guys."

"I understand," Chifuyu smiles kindly. "Don't worry, me and Takemitchy got your back! Oh, and I know that even though Draken can seem a little rough around the edges, he just really cares a lot about Toman and Mikey. He doesn't want to see them get hurt, you know?"

"Yeah, I know," you smile back.

You then give Chifuyu a hug goodbye. He waves to you as he readies himself to put his helmet back on and drives off. Then, when you get inside, you rush right to your brother's apartment and knock on his door. When he opens it he looks as though he just woke up from a nap.

"Where the hell were you?" he asks as he takes in your outfit and your messed-up hair.

"With Toman," you reply.

"Well, what's up with your hair? It's all fucked up. And your ear is bright red." the douchebag continues to speak.

"It's a lot to explain," you sigh as you walk right past him into the house.

You then begin to explain to your brother the recent events you went through, walking back and forth pacing his living room as you talk.

"Fucking Draken. He came out of nowhere and started interrogating me!" you exclaim. "He asked a million questions like he always fucking does and finally figured it all out."

Your brother looks absolutely pissed, to say the least. He stomps towards you and slaps you straight across the face. "You ruined everything, Y/N! You swore to me that you wouldn't but you fucking did!"

"Wait! Hold on!" you should as you stretch out your arm to prevent him from striking you again. "Mikey was okay with it! Chifuyu and Takemichi convinced him to keep me around!"

Your brother seems to relax a little bit as he takes a step back. "You better not be fucking lying to me, Y/N!"

"Of course, I'm not," you scoff. "Why would I? What reason could I have to take their side over-"

"Don't even think of finishing that sentence!" he shouts, most likely waking up your neighbors.

"Jesus, Tetta, I was just saying."

"Well don't! Did Mikey find out about your last name?"

"No," you reply plainly, allowing him to breathe for a moment.

"Fine, then. Even though you fucked up you should still keep going. We can still salvage some of this," he says as he fixes his glasses.

"Really? But Draken's going to be watching my every move," you reply.

"Then let him or else he'll become even more suspicious of you than he already is. Do everything he asks and don't complain! If they find out your last name is Kisaki, it's all over. You will be back on the street and I swear to god I mean that, Y/N. If they don't kill you first, that is."

"What's your deal with Toman anyway?" you scoff. "They're not all that bad?"

"Those pathetic idiots are so worthless I'm going to kill them all," he replies as though the answer was as clear as day.

"Then why didn't you? You could just go there yourself and shoot Mikey down."

"'Cause those other guys are loyal as puppies. I'd be the next one in line with a bullet in my head if I attempted anything. Why don't you do it, Y/N?" he hums.

You sigh at his ridiculousness and sit down on his couch.

"You're going to tell them that your real name is Y/N L/N and leave the surname Kisaki out of it, do you understand?" he barks.

"Yeah, yeah," you roll your eyes as you put your feet up across the sofa. "Anyway I'm crashing here tonight 'cause my feet are too tired to carry me upstairs. You better not complain 'bout it."

"Whatever," he mutters to himself, shaking his head and walking off.

With a relieved sigh that your brother didn't murder you like you thought he was going to, you grab a blanket from the end of the sofa and wrap yourself up tight before falling fast asleep.
