*Tobias's POV*
What's taking so long? Tris has been in her house for thirty minutes. I decide the against going in because I'm pretty sure her dad doesn't like me..
I hope she caught what I said earlier, about being in love with her. I hope even more she feels the same way. Tris gave me the trust I lost as a kid.
"Tris, please don't leave again!" I hear a voice yell and I snap my head up. Tris is coming towards the car with tears streaming from her face. What the hell?
"Tris, get back her now." I see her dad stalking after her and I instantly knew he was the reason for her tears.
"Get away from her." I grit getting out of the car and her dad stops and glares at me.
"So your going to be a slut and go with him?" He mocks Tris with a smirk and she sobs again before climbing into the car with a black bag.
"Bastard." I spit out before socking him in the face. I hear Tris's mom gasp and her heels clicking towards us.
"Little boy." Her father swings at me, but I quickly dodge and shove him to the ground before repeatedly hitting him.
"Stop! Please stop!" I feel her mom pulling at my shirt and I quickly stand up and pull away.
"You have no right to take her with you." Her dad wipes blood from his mouth and bats away his wife as she tries to help him.
"Well, Tris has every right to leave and whatever is going on here she made a damn good choice." I snap before getting in the drivers seat not wasting any more time on him.
"Sorry." I hear Tris whimper in her hands.
"You have nothing to be sorry for." I huff still angry.
"I caused a fight for nothing." She starts to cry again so put an arm around her while driving.
"Your dad obviously did something, what is it?" I rub soothing circles in her back and she slowly stops sobbing.
"He's not my dad." She whispers leaning into my arm. What?
"I know you are mad at him, but he still is your dad Tris."
"No, I'm serious, he isn't my real dad." Tris looks up at me with tears brimming her eyes.
"What do you mean?" Concern lace my voice.
"I mean, I'm not his daughter. They have lied to me my whole life." She starts to cry again and I speed up trying to get home quick.
"God Tris, I had no idea. I'm so sorry." My lame ass comfort didn't do much due to her still crying.
"Well, neither did I." Tris retorts laughing dryly.
"Let's just go lay down, have ice cream and talk, okay?" I offer and she smiles slightly.
"What about everyone else? We are suppose to meet them at the beach in fifteen minutes." She reminds me with glossy eyes.
"I'll call them and tell them we aren't coming." I tell her and she gives my hand a squeeze.
"I lo- like how amazing you are." She bites her lip. I know she was going to say love. Maybe it was stupid for me to hope something like that.
"I know, I'm amazing." I chuckle trying not to let her word choice faze me.
I mentally curse as I pull into my drive way, Marcus was home from his business trip.
"Something wrong?" Tris notices my distress and wipes away any tears that still remained from her puffy eyes.
"Uh, nothing." I state and pull back out.
"Where are we going?" She asks confused.
"How about we go get lunch. Sound good?" I suggest and she furrows her eyebrows and slowly agrees. I mentally thank her for not pushing me why.
"Do you ever wonder if we would be dating if I haven't moved?" Tris's question caught me off balance and I shifted in my seat.
"No not really. I bet we would be dating though, how could I let other guys be with you?" I wiggle my eyebrows and she laughs lightly. God, her laugh it so beautiful like her.
"Seriously. Where would we be, would we even be friends still?" She seems so caught up in it for no reason.
"It really doesn't matter, Tris. This is now and we are together now. That's what matters." I lace our hands together again and she grins.
"Your right." Her head falls on my shoulder and I feel her relax.
"What made you ask that question anyways?" I ask curiously and she shrugs, shortly followed by lightly snores indicating she's asleep.
"I love you, Tris." I whisper into her hair and kiss her head. What would I do without her?
"I love you too." She whispered faintly, but I caught it causing my heart to stop. Did she really mean that?
"Tris.." I gently nudge her to test if she still is awake. Disappointment ran through me when she didn't respond.
.................
"What the hell?" I hit my GPS for the tenth time. We have been driving over and hour trying to find this fricken diner.
"Are we there yet?" Tris yawned stretching in her seat.
"No.. we are kinda lost." I sigh and band my head against the steering wheel.
"Ugh, I'm so hungry." She groans and digs through her bag.
"What are you looking for?" I ask as she scavenges.
"This." She pulls out a king size snicker and grins.
"So you going to share?" I eye her and she acts as if she's contemplating.
"Nah, I'm good." Tris decides before opening it and taking a big chunk.
"Hey, I'm hungry too." I whine and she shrugs.
"Sorry. Your the one who got us lost." She points out and I roll my eyes.
"Well, there should be a small town or something in the next thirty minutes." I remember seeing a sign a few miles back.
"There better be, I hate back roads." She replies taking another bite of the chocolate and my stomach growls.
"Tris....." I sneak another look at the rest of the candy and she sighs.
"Fine. You can have the rest." I waste no time to snatch it from her and stuff it in her mouth leaving her wide eyed.
"Sorry.." I say cheekily with my mouth full of food and she starts to laugh then I soon join.
"Good thing I like you." Tris grins hitting me lightly in the shoulder.
I pretend to lose control of the wheel and she squeals.
"Stop Toby!" I grin and look at her.
"Good thing I like you too."
