* Tris's Pov *

That night I lie in bed and think about Tobias's stormy blue eyes and his deep rumbled voice. Before a long sleep over took me.

* Tobias Pov *

As I run out of Tris's house I think of how stupid I was for leaving. I stop and sit on her front porch steps and think.

After a while Uriah comes out and I persuade him to take me home. Before he can ask questions I give him a look not to talk to me.

I check my watch and it is a quarter till 6 when I get home. Crap, Marcus will be home at seven and I don't have dinner done! Without thanking Uriah I sprint into my house and run into the kitchen. I pull out frozen chicken and heat it up, then threw it into the oven. Next warmed up canned greenbeans and set the table.

As I was getting ready to take out the chicken I heard the door bust open.

"TOBIAS!" Marcus, not earning the title of a father yelled.

I shuffled into the living room and held my head high. In his hand he held a beer bottle half empty.

"Where were you after school?" His voice cracked.

"I-I was at a friends house." I stammer.

"Who was it?" The smell of his mouth reeked.

"Tris- Tris Prior." I mumbled wanting to leave.

"Ah, the Prior girl, I work with her dad, is she nice?" He questioned

I look in his eyes and nod my head too fast. The look in his eyes turned evil.

"Do you like her? Cause if you do a sorry excuse of a son like you will never be loved! Turn around!" I knew what was coming so I turned around and hear the sound of a belt crack.

"This is for your own good." He repeated every time he hit me. I screamed and yelled when it came down. After about half an hour he passed out drunk on the floor. So I ran up to my room and slammed the door sobbing. I walked to my bathroom and threw away my blood soaked shirt. After cleaning my wounds I slept thinking of blue grey eyes.
