*Parking Garage Near a Bus Depot*
Hank and Ana arrived on scene after Hailey made the decision to call off a drug bust. Now the two Sergeants were here to find out why.
"What happened?" The older man demanded as they rounded a corner and found their team crowded around their undercover van.
"My dealer." Vanessa replied, moving out of the way to reveal Hailey holding a computer with a cop's file pulled up on it.
"He's one of us?" Ana asked in disbelief.
"Kelly Tyler. PO. Assigned to Area South Mission Team, TAC." The blonde listed as she turned the laptop back around.
"11-year veteran. Nothing but standard beefs." Jay added.
"And we're sure it's him?" Hank asked in confirmation.
"Yeah. We went to the Academy together. He might've asked me out on a date." Hailey explained, getting weird looks from everyone else. "I might've said no."
"Well, maybe he was just doing what we're doing. Got our wires crossed. Could've been detailed to DA, Customs." The older man shrugged.
"We deconflicted before we got here." The blonde pointed out. "And now we were going through the list of all the agencies, checked A and A records."
"There's nothing that suggests he's here in any official capacity." Jay finished for her.
"You're saying he's dirty?" Ana inquired, sharing a look with her husband.
"We're saying what we know to be true. We have no reason to believe Kelly Tyler was here working today. He was selling heroin." Hailey nodded.
Hank clenched his jaw and let out a small sigh.
*District 21: Conference Room*
(A/N I don't remember if this area gets used again in the show but if it does, this is what it will now be referred to in this fic)
The entire Intelligence Unit was seated at a long wooden table, watching patiently as Hank closed the door. He then walked over and took the chair at the head of the table, glancing across from him to find his wife seated at the other end.
"Okay. Tell us something we don't know." The older man commanded.
"Well, we scrubbed Tyler's personal financials. Dude lives well." Kevin began.
"Well. He lives in Portage Park." Kim corrected.
"With the rest of the cops." Ana supplied.
"Sure. And then a couple of years ago, he bought this in cash. Door County. Lakefront property." She explained, handing Hank an iPad, which he then flipped around so Ana could get a good view of the fancy looking house.
"He also rents a storage unit." Kevin added.
"Which is the corporate address of a cash-only LLC that does absolutely nothing." Kim informed.
"And it's run by a shell corporation, which somehow was founded by his mother. . .three years after she died." Kevin revealed.
"All right, the way we left things at the bus depot, Tyler thought we had a successful exchange, right? Got a good thing going." Hank recalled, glancing at Vanessa on his right.
"Well, I texted him, you know, just to keep the vibe alive. Told him my boss enjoyed the product, we're ready to do this. Dude left me on read. Just ghosted me." She muttered.
"He's spooked. He's a pro." Jay reasoned.
"Cause he's a cop." Hailey pointed out, glancing down at the table.
