*489 West Luther Street: Nightttime*

Adam and Kevin had arrived on the scene after hearing about a few ODs that Ambulance 61 and Squad 3 had responded to. The Officers were currently heading back to their car while listening to Kelly describe a young boy that had fled from the building not too long ago after checking up on his girlfriend, Brandi.

"I don't know, he was about 17? 18 years old. Didn't get a name." The Lieutenant explained.

"We'll track him down." Adam assured.

"He was acting pretty strange. Something about him was off." Kelly recalled.

"People don't usually run when they're innocent." Adam retorted.

"So the girlfriend, Brandi, they took her to Chicago Med, right?" Kevin asked in confirmation and the Lieutenant turned to face them as they stopped near the Squad Truck.

"Yeah, she was pretty far gone. Worst of the bunch." Kelly nodded.

"Three ODs at once, it's gotta be a hot batch." Adam pointed out, glancing at his teammate. "I'm thinking counterfeit oxy, right?"

"Yeah, we've been getting a lot of that lately." Kevin muttered and turned back to Kelly. "We'll go over there to Med. We'll try to see what we can find out, what they took and where they got it from."

"Thanks for sticking around, bro." Adam held out his hand for a shake.

"Yeah, you got it." The Lieutenant shook the outsretched limb before doing the same with Kevin.

The two Officers moved to walk off and Kelly was about to hop into the truck when another, familiar, voice had them all stopping dead in their tracks.

"Hey guys, I think I'm gonna head back to the Firehouse with the rest of Squad." Ana informed, appearing next to her Godson. "Henry wants me to spend some more time there and that's one offer I'll never refuse." She smirked, gesturing in Kelly's direction.

"Sure thing, Sarge." Kevin nodded in understanding.

"We'll keep you posted." Adam offered.

"Thanks." The brunette smiled and the two Officers each gave her one in return before heading off.

Ana let out a small breath and finally turned to face her Godson, giving him a full view of her bruised cheek. It may have been in the final stages of healing but it didn't make Kelly any less angry.

"I'm fine." Ana assured, instantly. "Happened on a case and, if it makes you feel any better, the guy's already dead."

The Lieutenant sighed in relief.

"Yeah, it does actually." He joked, moving to open the truck's door for her.

The older woman rolled her eyes and stepped in.

Ever the gentleman. She thought with a smirk.

*Firehouse 51: A Little While Later*

Ana, now in her captain's uniform, was hanging out at the Squad Table with Kelly and the rest of his crew. The brunette had been messing around on her phone when she suddenly received a text.

"Hey, Sev?" The older woman called, breaking his attention way from the magazine and pen in his hands.

"Yeah?" He inquired.
