Karen sees Kenny as more of a parent then a brother, and Kenny is completely fine with Karen calling him Dad but he wants Karen to sees him as a brother because he wants Karen to know that she has a mom and dad even if they may not act like it at all they still are and they still love her. He constantly tells her that so she doesn't grow up feeling like her parents dont car about her.
