THE RAIN SLASHED THE WINDOWS of the Devil's common room. The wind howled, clattering the tiles on the roofs as I walked into the library. Lucas was sitting in the far corner, with books pilled before him.

"Hello Viola" he smiled as I took a seat next to him

"Lucas" I nodded with a smile.

"So I've brought you all my notes from the past few weeks" Lucas started shuffling threw some parchment, "you can write a few key points down"

I wrote down the key points that I had missed, "Pretty necklace" he commented charmingly smiling

"Thank you" I replied, "A friend of mine bought it for Christmas"

"A friend?" Lucas said, "your friend must have really good taste"

"Yeah, Miles bought it for me" I smiled, looking back at him.

"Oh, Miles?" I could've sworn his jaw clenched, "It's tangled though" he pointed out

"Urg, I hate when that happens" I sighed as I tried to detangle the necklace with no luck.

"Need help?" Lucas asked. I considered it for a second before nodding my head slowly

Lucas reaches out, his fingers brushing the skin of my neck softly as he started to detangle it.

"There. All done" he smiled

"Thank you" I smiled

It was a strange sight seeing Lucas being gentle. I considered him a dickhead, having a new girl each weekend.

"Did you get that?" He asked snapping me out of my thoughts

"Huh?" I asked clearing my head, "Sorry, I was daydreaming. I'm listening now"

"No worries. I've written all of it down for you"

"Thank you" I replied scanning over the notes

I had convinced Professor Hastings to let me retake my Earth magic test and had revived it back a week later. I had managed to bring my grade up to a 90% which I was extremely happy with.

"How the hell did you manage to get such an extreme score on your test?!" Jasmine exclaimed as I held my test in front of them in the courtyard as we ate lunch.

"Lucas helped me study" I shrugged

Jasmine gasped "No way! I didn't know he was such a nerd"

"He isn't" I replied

"Speaking of the devil, there he is," Jasmine said pointing at Lucas who was surrounded by a bunch of girls, "Hey! Where are you going?" Jasmine shouted as I got up and walked away

"To thank Lucas"

Lucas being unaware didn't realize I stood behind him. Tapping on his shoulder I made my existence known, "Lucas?"

He spun around immediately, "Oh, hey Viola. What brings you here?" he mumbled looking around at the girls surrounding by him

"I just wanted to thank you. I got a 90% on my Earth Magic test" I smiled holding my test in front of his eyes

"That's great! I knew you could do it!" he smiled, "but you have to repay me now"

Repay him? I'm not jumping into his bed.

"What?" I frowned

"Yeah. I've helped you with your test, so now we are friends. Because that's what friends do, right?"

Friends?

"Alright then, friends it is" I nodded

"Do you have any plans for tomorrow? Maybe we could hang out as friends?" he chuckles

"Unfortunately, I've already got plans tomorrow, it's my birthday is tomorrow" I smile

"Well then, Happy Birthday in advance! I'll see you around tomorrow"

"Thank you. See you tomorrow" I replied. Lucas smirked, as I gave him one last smile before returning to Jasmine.
