The Grier's home is like my second home. And while it was good to be back at my second home instead of a hotel room, I missed my real home.
Even if my best friends weren't sliding, face first down the stairs in their football gear or almost burning the house down trying to use the toaster there, I still missed it.
Of course I also knew that as soon as I left I would regret it. So when my mom called I told her I would be home on the last day of summer.
It hurt to think about going home but it also hurt to think about not seeing mom. Delilah was one of the few things that made life worth living.
She could wipe your tears, cheer you up, and punch the lights out of who hurt you all at the same time. When I was little I had called her super mom because all the other kids at my daycare had loved her.
When dad left she had stayed strong only crying when she thought I wasn't looking and carrying on with everyday life when she knew I was.
I couldn't wait to be back in her soft arms.
I picked up my book and sat on my bed reading till Nash ran in and jumped on my bed. He had been acting really strange around me lately.
"What's up?" I asked sitting the book down and pulling my feet out from underneath me.
"Do you wanna go to dinner tonight?" He asked. "Sure! Where are we going?" I asked. "It's a surprise." He said.
"Well does anyone else know where we're going to eat?" I asked. "Nope it's just you and me." he said. "Oh cool. I've been wanting to spend some quality time with you lately." I said. He smiled and I giggled.
"What time will you be picking me up?" I asked. "How about seven?" He asked laughing. "Sounds good!" I said getting up to get ready. I had an hour to get ready to go to dinner.
Only once he had left did I realize he had just asked me out on a date. I buried my face in my fluffy pillow and screamed.
Hayes ran in and looked like he had had a heart attack. "Why are you screaming?!" He asked. "Nash asked me out on a date!" I said excitedly. He looked at me shocked.
"I didn't think he had it in him." He said looking proud of his brother. I laughed and shooed him so I could get ready.
I pulled my hair up in a simple ponytail and put on my best dress. It was a light blue strapless dress with black heels and in my hair I pinned a black rose hair pin.
I grabbed my black clutch and applied my usual mascara, lipgloss and blush. I hurried down stairs where Nash was waiting in the car.
As I sat in the car looking dreamily out the window, I didn't yet know I was heading for one of the best nights of my young life.Sorry I haven't updated in a while I've bee a bit busy with school and trying to get my grades up.
