My little baby had tubes and i.vs connected everywhere. I brushed my finger against her tiny cheek and she twitched her hand in response.
I completely broke down in tears and sobbed into Nash's chest. He took a picture and I have him a small smile as he made it the wallpaper on his phone.
Then everyone else came in. I wasn't allowed to hold her yet, but I could touch her.
She laid there, not even able to breath on her own, as the machines beside her droned on and on. I touched her small hand and she gripped my finger for a second before letting go.
I looked up at Nash and he beamed at me. My little girl was getting stronger. A few more weeks and she'd hopefully be able to go home.
Within two months she was deemed strong enough to be held. She still had a breathing tube in her mouth and an iv supplying her with all the nutrients she would normally be getting from me.
She was barely six pounds but she fit snugly into my arms, like she was born the perfect size to fit in my small arms. And she had been.
Day after day I held her in my arms. By the time she was six months old she was almost the size of a regular infant.
She no longer needed the breathing tube and we would be able to bring her home the day she turned seven months. I took a selfie with her in my arms. She made that cute little toothless baby smile.
I laughed and posted the picture.
'Get to take this little cutie home in less than a month!💜'
Was the caption. It instantly had thousands of favorites and retweets.
People kept congratulating us and Shawn, Carter, Matt, and Johnson stayed to help Nash finish the nursery and it was finally complete.
One month later Nash was packing all our clothes and I was walking back down to the NICU to say goodbye to the nurses down there.
I walked in but none where in there. The only baby in the room was crying and I couldn't help but try and calm them down.
I leaned over the babies crib and sang softly. "It's been a long day without my friend, and I'll tell you all about it when I see you again." I sang.
I finished the song and someone cleared their throat. I turned to see Nash and one of the nurses smiling at me.
"I don't think that boy has stopped crying since he got here." The nurse said. We had left the NICU several days before and she had been moved to a normal room so we hadn't seen them move the child in here.
I looked down at the little boy and he gurgled softly. "He's so cute." I said and ran my thumb over his cheek, the same way I did with London.
"He doesn't have a mother to calm him down. We found him in the bathroom." The nurse said. I looked down at my own baby, laying in my arms.
Why would anyone want to leave their baby. I looked at Nash pleadingly. "We'll talk about it on the way home."he said. I grinned down at the little boy and he gurgled again.
"Don't go anywhere." I whispered and bent down to kiss his soft forehead. I followed Nash out to the car and he helped me into the backseat next to London's car seat.
"Wasn't he just the cutest thing?!" I asked excitedly. "Except for our London of course." He said. "Obviously." I said and looked down at her.
Her little blue eyes where closed and her small cheat moved up and down in as steady pace. I was overjoyed when I learned she had Nash's eyes and not mine.
"But we have one baby already and she's going to be hard enough to take care of." He said. I nodded sadly, but then I looked down at London and realized how lucky I was.
Guys this story is almost over and I'm super sad. I don't know if I'll have time to make a sequel but I'll try. Stay beautiful!💜
