I wore a pair of jeans and my booties along with a short-sleeved shirt that was just plan and mint green. Chris told me dinner was very casual. He knocked on the front door.
"It's open." I yelled as I sat putting my booties on. Chris walked in and smiled.
"I look okay? I mean I can change." I said and he shook his head.
"You looked amazing sweetheart." Chris said walking over to me and kissing me. He then got nudged by Perdy.
"And hello to you pretty girl." Chris said and he petted her.
"You spoil her." I said and Chris shrugged.
"She is too perfect to not be spoiled." Chris said and I shook my head. Chris walked to the door and grabbed her leash.
"Ready to go?" Chris asked and I looked at him oddly.
"Why do you have her leash?" I asked.
"Because Dodger is already at my moms and if I show up with you and not dodgers girlfriend I don't want to deal with his attitude." Chris said and I laughed.
"Oh they are dating now?" I asked and Chris nodded.
"Dodger told me." Chris said as he hooked her up on her leash and we walked out of the apartment. Chris took my hand as we walked to his car and he loaded Perdy in his car and we drove to his moms. I was nervous the entire time. I hadn't done the whole meeting the family thing in a while.
"So what do I need to know about your family before we get there?" I asked and Chris laughed.
"Well mom and dad are divorced so it will only be mom. I have Carly who you met, a younger sister Shanna and a younger brother Scott. You met the only niece and nephews I have. Scott's boyfriend isn't in town so he wont be there but Shanna's fiancé Graham will be and Carly's husband Ryan will be." Chris explained and I nodded.
"So all your siblings were in a committed relationship but you?" I asked trying not to laugh and he looked at me in shock with a smile on his face.
"Okay that hurt." Chris said and I leaned over and kissed his cheek.
"You were just waiting for me, I know." I said and he nodded.
"That's exactly it." Chris said and I smiled. After a while we pulled up to his mom's and I saw the kids in the front yard playing with Dodger and Perdy started barking making Chris and I laugh. I unhooked her leash.
"Let the girl go, she is about to take off your car door." I said and Chris parked the car and got out letting Perdy out and she ran up to Dodger and the kids freaked over another dog. Chris rushed around and opened my door for me. Once we got out his nephews and niece smiled at me.
"Hi Viv!" Ethan said.
"Hey guys. That's Perdy, can you take care of her for me?" I asked and they smiled broadly.
"You got it!" Miles said and I smiled.
"Ready to go inside?" Chris said and I took a deep breath as he held my hand and we walked inside.
"Hello?" Chris called out and he took his shoes off placing them by the door and I followed doing the same.
"Kitchen." Carly called back. Before we could even get to the living room I was being rushed by a guy and Chris laughed.
"This is her?" The guys asked and Chris nodded."I'm Scott. You will soon learn I am the better Evans brother and like me more than him." Scott said and I laughed as Chris rolled his eyes. I hugged Scott when he went in for a hug.
"I'm Genevieve, you can call me Viv." I said and Scott smiled.
"But Genevieve is so pretty!" Scott said and I laughed.
"Thank you." I said and Chris sighed.
"Where's mom?" Chris asked.
"Kitchen with the girls." Scott said and then he looked out the front window.
"Who's dalmatian?" Scott asked and I smiled.
"Mine, her name is Perdy." I said and Scott went rushing outside.
"He love's dogs." Chris said and I laughed as we walked into the kitchen.
"Hey." Chris said and they all looked up.
"Viv, hey." Carly said.
"Hey." I said smiling.
"Mom, Shanna this is Genevieve or Viv." Chris said and I smiled and Shanna came up and hugged me and then his mom."It's so nice. So this is the one you met at the dog park?" Lisa asked and I looked at him kind of funny and he groaned at his mother.
"Yes mom. I haven't met anyone else anywhere else." Chris said and Lisa smiled.
"Do you ladies need any help?" I asked and Lisa shook her head.
"No we have it." Lisa said and I sighed.
"Okay, I think I'm go check on Perdy. You coming?" I asked Chris.
"One minute." He said and I nodded. I walked towards the front door to head out. I had felt a cold shoulder from his mom since we arrived in the kitchen. I walked outside after putting my shoes on and found Scott standing there with 2 other guys.
"Viv, this is Ryan Carly's husband and Graham Shanna's fiancé. Guys this is Viv, Chris's....what are you exactly?" Scott asked and I laughed.
"Girlfriend." I said and Scott smiled as I shook both their hands.
"Nice to meet you both." I said and they smiled. I watched the kids play with the dogs but my mind was concerned with what was happening in the house.
"Chris talking to Lisa and the girls?" Graham asked and I nodded.
"Yeah, I think so." I said and he laughed.
"Take it from the latest victim, it's not that bad." Graham said and I laughed.
*****CHRIS POV*****
"So mom, what was up with that comment?" I asked crossing my arms.
"What comment?" Lisa asked.
"The Dog park one? You make it sound like I picked up girls all over Boston and you are trying to keep it straight." I said and Lisa sighed.
"You said she is a travel magazine writer..." Lisa trailed off.
"Okay and your point?" I asked.
"And she is only here for 6 months." Lisa said and I sighed.
"Right. There is an option for longer." I said and Lisa sighed.
"There also isn't, so what happens in 6 months?" Lisa asked."We haven't discussed that yet mom." I said and Lisa sighed.
"I don't want to see you hurt Chris." Lisa said.
"Who said I would get hurt?!" I asked in shocked.
"If she leaves here and goes back to New York you will be hurt." Lisa said and I groaned.
"We will cover that topic when we get there mom but right now I am with her and I really like her and you barely gave her a chance." I said annoyed walked out of the kitchen and went to walk outside to find Viv.
