The movers were moving in the last of the boxes into the new apartment and I sighed just looking around. Perdy was having a slight panic attack since I had packed away her bed and toys.
"Please calm down. Once I find your box you can have your shit." I said and she barked at me.
"Hey! Stop." I said annoyed and she growled at me and I glared at her and she sat down.
"Thank you." I said. I started looking through the boxes and found her box.
"Lookie here." I said to her and started unpacking her stuff in a corner of the living room I didn't need right now. Perdy laid down on the bed and huffed at me.
"Oh I'm sorry you are so wore out. You must have driven all day, dealt with idiot movers and a stupid landlord." I said and she rolled on her back and closed her eyes. I grabbed a couple of the boxes labeled kitchen and took them in and started unpacking them.

A few hours later I was done unpacking and ready to just pass out but my stomach growled loud enough to wake Perdy.
"Don't judge me." I said and I put my head back on the couch when there was a knock on the door. I slightly groaned and walked to the door and opened it to se a girl standing there with a smiled on her face.
"Can I help you?" I asked.
"I'm Lexi. I'm your neighbor across the hall." She said and I smiled and shook her hand.
"Nice to meet you." I said and Perdy came running up.
"I'm Genevieve, and this nosey lady is Perdy." I said and Lexi smiled.
"Like 101 Dalmatians?" Lexi asked and I nodded.
"Yeah, exactly." I said and I noticed then Lexi was holding a pizza box and a bottle of wine.
"Would you like to come in? It's a slight mess but it's home." I said and she laughed and walked in.
"I brought pepperoni pizza and wine, I hope that's okay? I know you didn't feel like cooking or anything." Lexi said and I nodded as I grabbed wine glasses and plates.
"You would be correct." I said with a small laugh and walked back into the living room. I sat down with Lexi on the couch and we dished out pizza as she poured the wine.
"So why move to Concord? It's not a huge place." She said and I smiled.
"My job actually relocated me. I work for a travel magazine and they want me to do research around Boston this fall and winter for things to do so they moved me here under a 6-month period for an option for longer." I said and Lexi smiled.
"Nice! Well I have lived her my whole life, my friend Ash has too so if you ever need any kind of suggestions just ask." Lexi said and I smiled.
"Thanks so much. I know I need a dog park for her." I said pointing to Perdy."Oh there is one actually a few blocks away." Lexi said and I smiled.
"Perfect." I said. We continued eating and drinking wine while we talked and I got to know her."Well I have to say it's nice to actually know one person here now. Thanks for the pizza and wine." I said and she smiled as she got up to leave after a couple hours.
"No problem, so how about I see when Ash is free and we all plan on going out to that bar I was telling you about. It's a pride and joy of Boston. I mean it's named Pride and Joy." Lexi said and we laughed.
"Sounds good, just let me know." I said as I walked her and Perdy followed.
"Bye pretty girl." Lexi said and leaned down to pet her. I smiled as her tail wagged and I knew she made a new friend.
