I threw my backpack over my shoulder, walking out of the school building. I have a free period right now and I always sat on the bench in front of the school when I have it. As I trudged down the front steps I noticed someone leaning against the wall near by the bench. I made my way over slowly and squinted my eyes, seeing it was Jason.

I stepped on an empty chips packet and he looked up at me, his lips curved up into a small smile. "Hey you."

I noticed he was holding a cigarette in between his fingers of his left hand. I smiled back.

"Hi."

I walked over to the bench placing my backpack on the one side before sitting down.

"What are you doing out of class?" He asked, making me look back at him.

"I have a free period. You?"

He shrugged "Needed some time to myself."

I bit my lip "Oh, well then I'm sorry for disturbing you."

He shook his head, leaning his head back against the wall and closing his eyes "You're not disturbing me, sweetheart."

My cheeks flushed at the nick name and I looked down at my lap. I sighed before reaching into my backpack and pulling out my sketchbook. I went to the page I was last at and began finishing my latest drawing.

"Whatchya doin?" I heard him ask from behind me. I shrugged.

"Just drawing."

I heard his footsteps come closer before my bag was taken off the bench and he took its place. I felt his gaze on my hand as i finished up the final touches.

As I pulled my hand away, I looked up at him. "You wanna see it?"

He nodded and I handed him the book. His eyes scanned the page before he looked at me with slightly wide eyes "You drew this?"

I nodded, biting down on my bottom lip.

He smiled "It's amazing."

He glanced at the book again, "You're really talented." He said, running his fingers over the drawing. I blushed, slowly taking my book out of his hands.

"Thank you." I placed my book in my backpack before looking at him. "What about you? Do you draw?"

He laughed, shaking his head "No, no I don't draw. I spray paint walls sometimes but I don't draw."

I nodded, crossing my legs and turning to fully face him "So what else do you do for fun?"

He shrugged "I like to party and stuff like that."

I glanced at his hand seeing the cigarette still burning fiercely, "And you smoke?"

He looked down at his hand before nodding "Yeah, its a habit I can't beat, no matter how hard I try." He threw the cigarette on the floor, killing it with his foot.

"My brother smokes too but never in front of me because he knows I hate it."

He licked his lips "I heard your father's the most well-know and respected priest in town."

I sighed, "Yep, that's true."

He furrowed his eyebrows "If that's true then how come Holly's so...um.." He cleared his throat, not knowing how to say it.

"So slutty?" I asked and he nodded. I shrugged, "That's just how she is, we're all pretty different from one another."

He raised his eyebrows "Yeah?"

I nodded. "Adam is the only son and also the eldest, he smokes and drinks and stuff like that but he's not a bad person. Holly is the second eldest. She's easy to get into bed and selfish, she only thinks of herself, she's also, as I told you before, the pretty one. Gaby is my twin, she's cheeky and always has a comeback, she has a really big heart but she would never admit it. I am known as the most innocent one, I don't smoke, drink alcohol and I've never had a boyfriend or even been interested in boys."

He bit his lip "So you've never had a boyfriend, huh?"

I shook my head "Nope."

He nodded, looking into the distance. "You were drawing a bird. Why?"

I shrugged, picking on the wood of the bench? "Birds are free, they have nothing to worry about, nothing to hold them back, they can just fly and go wherever they want to... I wish I was a bird."

He looked at me, his eyes staring into mine making me look down. I cleared my throat "I have to tell
you something."

He raised his eyebrows "Okay?"

I sighed, "Holly asked me to find out more about you so that she could know what to talk to you about and get you to like her."

He groaned "No! Tell her I'm not interested."

I shook my head "No, if you want her to know you don't feel the same way, you'll have to tell her yourself."

He shook his head "No, you should tell her because you're her sister. It would be easier."

"I can't tell her, she won't believe me." I reasoned, making him sigh.

"Fine, I'll tell her."

I smiled "Thank you."

I fiddled with the edge of my shirt as the two of us sat in silence. I kept thinking about his name. Jason, I've
always wanted to name my son that one day. Before I could stop my stupid mouth I blurted out ""I like your name."

He chuckled, looking at me? "Thank you, princess."

Princess? Gosh another pet name. My cheeks burned as I looked down.

"Why do you like it?"

I shrugged "I've always wanted to name my son that." I smiled, looking up at him. "So, I could call him 'Jase' for short."

He smiled, "You can call me Jase, if you want."

I bit my lip, feeling my cheeks burn again. Gosh, he makes me feel so shy. The siren sounded and I sighed, getting up and grabbing my backpack "Well, it was nice talking to you... Jase." He smiled.

"You too, princess."
