10 years later...
Emily woke up at the same time that she'd been waking up for the past couple months and made her way into the kitchen. She began to make a cheese omelet when she heard a familiar ringing of Briella's alarm. She smiled when she saw the beautiful 16-year-old walk into the kitchen less than 5 minutes later. They did their usual morning talk of what their plans were for the day as they both ate their breakfast.
Briella took her plate into the sink when she finished and made her way back to her room to get ready for the day. Emily cleaned up the remains of breakfast and put a snack in Briella's purse. Briella came back onto the kitchen and grabbed her car keys so she could leave for school. "Don't forget, I'm going to the mall after school" "Okay hun. Be safe! I love you!" "I love you too mom!"
She closed the door behind her when she left. Emily got ready for work and all she could think about was how they met Briella and all the challenges they had overcome to get to where they were right now. She was so damn proud of her.
