Stella Parlor

                  "Hi Mom." I greeted my mother. I haven't saw her or Dad in months and knowing that I was leaving in four days, I just wanted to check up on them.

"Sweetheart, how are you?"

"I'm fine, I've missed you." I spoke sadly.

"Oh my. I miss you too baby." She cracked at the end.

"How's Daddy?" I asked trying to change the topic so that she wouldn't start crying.

"Oh, he's somewhere being his usual old self." She said in an annoyed tone.

"Mother, you're talking about your husband and my father." I laughed at her remark.

Old people...

"Well I called to tell you that in the next four days I'll be out of country for the next two months on a vacation."

"Why are you leaving sweetheart? Why do you need a vacation?"

"Errin, Mom." I told her.

"Stella, that boy has his eyes on you, you know?" She told me, she always reminded me of this, "you've been his assistant and everything for five years, you must have grown on him."

"I doubt he likes me, I mean look at me Mom?"

"What do you mean? My daughter is very beautiful." She told me angrily, seething.

"Mother, don't start with this now." I hissed.

"Young child, just call me when you're leaving or come see me tomorrow." She told me before adding, "because you're getting me rather upset."

I laughed, oh the motherly love. "Oh alright, goodnight, tell Daddy hi for me, love you both."

"Love you too Stella."

I ended the call and decided to read a book because it was Friday and I wasn't feeling the mood to watch any movie and feel lonely.

Like what was the point of watching a movie if I didn't have someone to watch it with? Don't get me wrong I had girls night every Saturday with Auramona and Cassandra.

Oh, sorry. Auramona Moniera and Cassandra Telfer; my best friends from we were kids but we live in different areas about three hours away because after high school we parted for college but managed to maintain our friendship over the years. We swapped houses at times to facilitate but it caused problems for me because of Errin so they came to my house most at the times.

At the mention of Auramona, I needed to call her and talk to her about my vaca and stuff.

It rang, she answered instantly, "Mona?"

"Yes Ell?" She asked getting straight to the point.

"I know I could have waited til tomorrow but I needed to talk to you."
