Chapter 8: But there were Cybermen?

Small thing, I said last chapter that I might add Velvet as a romantic interest, but I won't. This story will be You x Ruby, no others involved.

I'll also skip writing Oobleck's lesson because the Doctor doesn't really add anything to it.

Timeskip to the evening.

You and Ruby are alone in the dorm, she was reading a book on how to bake cookies and you were inspecting her scythe.
You: "Hmm, I just can't seem to understand. How do you get the sniper part to line up perfectly to shoot in both the scythe and gun form?"
Ruby: "I really don't know, I experimented with it and somehow it worked... After accidentally destroying some prototypes."
You: "You should think about stuff like that more. Not to say I haven't caused trouble piloting the Tardis, it's real hard to learn you know? But back to the point, if your scythe ever gets destroyed and you have to make a new one are you just gonna do a trial and error everytime?"
Ruby: "No I made notes on how to make one again just in case."
You: "Smart, I like it."
Few minutes of awkward silence.
Ruby: "This is boring."
You: "Yeah, y'know we could just be good students and behave. Orrrr.... We could travel across time and space, fancy a trip in the Tardis?"
Ruby: "Does it have strawberries and cookies?"
You: "Um...yeah it does."
Ruby: "Then let's go!"
You: "Allons-y!"

You and Ruby go into the Tardis.
You: "So, since you're the guest where do you want to go?"
Ruby: "I... Don't know."
You: "How about Earth? It's where I spent most of my time before Beacon."
Ruby: "Sure! While we're there can we meet some of your friends?"
You: "You can meet one of them, the others... left I suppose?"
Ruby: "Good enough for me!"
You: "Alrighty then, to Earth!"

You pilot the Tardis to Earth, but on the way there something went wrong.
Ruby: "What's happening?!"
You: "Just a little turbulence that's all! It's never been this bad before though."
After some seconds you make a landing.
You: "So, beyond those doors is probably Earth. I'm not really sure."
You put on a hat first, you and Ruby stepped out and were at an... anime convention?
You: "Of course, because an anime convention is the best first impression you can get of Earth."
Ruby: "What is an anime convention?"
You: "Basically where people that watch Japanese cartoons come together, Japan is a country by the way. Some of the fans can actually be really nice but some of them, well how do I say this nicely, they have a severe lack of human interaction and hygiene. If you get what I mean."
Ruby was looking at a huge poster on a wall.
Ruby: "Um Doctor? What are we doing on a poster?"
You turn around to look at it and see RWBY in big letters and you and team RWBY drawn like an anime.
You: "Don't panic, but there are two possibilities. Something has either gone terribly wrong with the timeline, or we're in a different universe. Which would explain the heavy turbulence from before."
You quickly take a look in the Tardis under the controls and you come back out again.
You: "Yep, different universe."
Ruby: "So how do we get back?"
You: "I've been in a fair share of different universes, if I'm right we just wait a day and the Tardis will have enough energy to bring us home."
Ruby: "So we just wait here a day?"
You: "Yep, at an anime convention in a parallel universe. So let's see what our show has to offer eh?"
Ruby: "Yes!"
You: "Though I don't recommend you walking around in your school uniform. Better dress in your battle outfit, and bring your scythe!"
Ruby goes into the Tardis and dresses into her battle outfit and got her scythe.
You: "Splendid! Now it will look like we're just cosplaying the characters from the show! Speaking of, I can just take off my hat and let my tail hang free since this is an anime convention."
You do as you say, you and Ruby walk around for a few minutes and suddenly get approached by a female cosplayer.
Cosplayer: "Excuse me, could I take a picture of you two? You look like so cute together and it's like you almost hopped out of the show!"
You: "Sure if Ruby here wants to."
Ruby: "Sure!"
You: "If you don't mind me asking who are you cosplaying as? I feel like I know you from somewhere."
Cosplayer: "I'm cosplaying as Mikasa Ackerman from Attack on Titan!"
You: "Ah, met her once in a parallel universe. I must say she is very skilled."
Cosplayer: "Getting into character eh? So depending on a pose I need to know, are you two together?"
You: "Define together please?"
Cosplayer: "Are you two dating?"
You: "Uhhhhh-"
Ruby takes a quick look at the poster again and sees that you and Ruby are wearing the same ring on it.
Ruby: "Yes! Yes we are."
Cosplayer: "Great! So I have a pose saved on my phone, if you two could replicate that it would be great."
She shows you the pose.
