Drift swung his katana blade down, Hina catching the blade with the palms of her hand as she used her arm strength to keep it from coming down on her.
She and Drift were training in the Battle Room, open to all crew members for practice, training, or if they just really need to blow something up.
Hina used the strength she had left in her arms, thrusting it to the side, as she lifted her leg up, kicking Drift in the stomach as he toppled backwards, dropping his sword. He toppled backwards once, then got the floor with his hand and feet, screeching to a halt as he looked up at the femme.
She had his sword.
She was certainly improving, this he knew, thought it was slightly embarrassing to have lost so easily. Maybe he shouldn't have continued going as easy on her as he had been for awhile. She wasn't half-human anymore. But regardless, she had mostly likely won if he couldn't turn this around.
There had to be a fair way to be her, there just had to be... but it wasn't until she barely shifted her weight that he saw the weakness in her defense. It was surprisingly obvious, though masked well by her intimidating stature. Drift quickly lunged for his blade and snatched it out of her servo without much effort.
He reached for his matching sword, only to find that it was missing. Where had it gone...?
"Looking for something?" She teased.
He turned his head to see the femme twirling it in her hand. She tossed it in the air, catching with her other hand before getting into a stance. "Drift, come on, I know you're going easy on me."
Drift shrugged, smirking at Hina playfully. "If you say so, Princess." He said, determined to show her why he went easy on her. She would understand, but he might as well have a little fun with this while he could.
Drift lashed out instantly and hit the katana she was wielding with his own, locking optics with her before moving looking to the right but swinging his blade left. His skill was developed enough that he didn't need to worry about hitting her, he wouldn't be that careless around her, not again.
The tip of his sword nicked part of the handle Hina wasn't holding, and he was dead intent on sending her off balance in order for him to retrieve his blade.
Hina became unstable, wobbling back before she quickly came running back, swimming her sword at the mech.
Drift easily dodged the blow and clashed his katana with the one she held, pushing her back with a casual display of strength; he seemed to be doing nothing at all, yet forcing her to keep giving the spar her all.
She staggered back, taking a quick moment to compose herself. He kept trying to push her back. Hina had to figure out a way to use it against him to push HIM back.
She quickly ran back, swiping her sword to the left, then the right, then she brought the sword down virtually to the right. Drift followed, blocking them all.
Then she did it again, a lot faster and swifter this time. After the final swipe, Hina's optics widened. Drift staggered! Now was her chance!
She faked a move with her sword, the mech falling for it. She then raised her leg and kicked him back in the stomach.
Drift stumbled backwards and his optics widened before he began assessing his many options, she was going offensive, meaning that she may have more weaknesses in her defense than usual.
He lunged for the blade she held, snagging the top of the handle and yanking it with a surge of strength that almost made him send himself off balance, but he did not realize that he had nicked her servo with the blade he held, despite his caution.
