After Rewind's funeral and giving her condolences to Chromedome, Hina sat on the berth of her hab suite, waiting for Drift's arrival. She spotted the mech standing at the back of the room during the funeral. He was running late because he needed to talk to Rodimus about something, and then after that had called the femme on her com-link to meet with him here after the funeral to talk about something important.
Hina has grown worried about her boyfriend for the past while now. He had been acting a bit... Different since the "Overlord" invasion.
Was he in on it somehow? He and Chromedome had been so focused and in sync on it, and apparently Brainstorm was in on it? Just what was going on?
Finally, after what seemed like a million hours, Drift came through the door, offering her the ghost of his usual playful smirk. Even his egotistical walk was at an all time low, and his optics just barely betrayed his feelings. "Hey, gorgeous," he said brightly, or as much as was possible for him. "Are you faring much better than I?"
Hina nodded slowly, looking up at the mech. After a moments pause, she spoke up again. "You've... never called me that before," she admitted. "Are you doing alright, Drift?"
He vented, reaching over to fondly brush his servo across her faceplate. "I'm much better now that I'm here with you, gorgeous." His gaze turned serious. "I almost took such a blessing from Primus for granted," he murmured softly. "I promised to cherish you, and after everything that's happened, I feel as if I've broken my promise to you, Sweetspark,"
"You were stuck on a medical bed getting your legs repaired. I think Primus would understand," Hina defended, a tiny smile perking up on her faceplate. She gently rose her servo to take his as the mech sat down next to her. "What was it that you wanted to meet me about?"
"It's just that, Hina," He admitted tiredly. "It's more than that, really. Something has happened, and I feel as if my fears are more than just things to be conquered , and my promises are nothing but broken oaths."
He shifted closer to her, his spark throbbing in a hurt that was almost as paining as the absolute trust and adoration coming from her. Even as much as he valued honesty, Drift desperately wished he could lie, if not for himself, than to spare her the pain he was afraid might strike her.
Hina looked at the mech with sympathy, gliding her servo down along the mech's arm for comfort. "Drift, you can tell me, please," her optics widened. "I want to know what's going on. I've been worried about you for the last few days now."
"Something has occurred, and I cannot turn a blind optic, not even if it means something.... Less than ideal will come to pass in my future." He said grimly, shaking his helm and brushing off her gentle touch. "I only wish that I had more time," the Autobot samurai admitted feebly. "I would give it all to you,"
"Drift..." Hina's voice trailed off.
Drift could barely even look at the femme. He just didn't want to say it. He felt her gentle touch cup his cheek as she pulled his faceplate to look at her.
