Prologue

     I'm not the type of person to be ungrateful for something in life but THIS was absolutely crazy. Hi, my name is Lia, Lia Anderson. I'm an African-American twenty-one year old young woman who is a Sophomore at Wood Lakes Academy. I know my college may sound all fancy but trust me when I say it isn't considering the fact that I even got in. I used to live with my dad and my nonna in Florida up until the summer before Freshman year of college. That's when I moved out into Atlanta for school. I never knew my mom much. All I know is that I have her smile. I have one picture of her and that's it. My dad doesn't like to talk about her much so I've always guessed that she was a bad woman. My dad used to work for a big company but my nonna got very sick so he had to quit to take care of her. Now he works three jobs. I used to feel so bad for him so, in the sixth grade, I got a job. I worked at a coffee shop for a while. I loved that job but now I have no job. Well at least I did have one. I got fired the week before I moved for giving a customer the wrong order. I swear it was an accident. But it's all good because I hated that job. As you can see my life is full of surprises. By the way, I hate surprises. Well now that you know a little bit about me let's jump into my life.
